*A small dog enters the new home of Sans and Papyrus on the surface. The whole crew was gathered here for a housewarming party. For reference, this all happens five years ago.*
Papyrus: SANS!!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT BRINGING DOGS HERE?!
Sans: i didn't let him in, bro.
Papyrus: WHO LEFT THE FRONT DOOR OPEN?
Frisk: I know it wasn't me.
*The dog in question is actually Toby Fox, a.k.a. God.*
Toby: Guess who managed to beat Sakurai at his own game?
Sans: hey, that's actually pretty neat.
Mettaton: What? The talking dog in your living room or the fact it beat the creator of Super Smash Bros.?
Sans: both.
Undyne: So... What does that have to do with us?
Toby: One of you gets to be added as DLC for Smash Ultimate!
Mettaton: Please pick me! I have so much potential and I would make a fabulous representative!
Toby: Although you are another highly requested pick, a majority of fans want Sans.
Mettaton: W-What?! Why him? He's just... He doesn't fit the vibe of a multiversal fighting game.
Toby: It's what the fans want, Mettaton. Sakurai will also be picking the most popular theme from the soundtrack to add as well. From the looks of it, Megalovania will most likely be added.
Mettaton: Sans never fought Frisk. That can't be possible.
Chara: Well... Hypothetically, he would still fight a human if things had gone differently in the Underground. It would probably be me but, I'd have to be controlling whoever wiped out everyone there since I'm a ghost.
Sans: and that theme isn't even mine if you really think about it.
*Later, Mettaton watches the Nintendo Direct that revealed the DLC and...*
Mettaton: *sobbing* I-I could've been there, Uni. I c-could've been a-a Smash fighter.
Uniqua: Stop crying, dude. I just mopped this floor and showered. I smell like a mechanic's garage.
Mettaton: D-Don't you have a-anything better to say to m-me?!
Uniqua: Well, it could be worse. It could've been that little bird that carried Frisk over a disproportionately small gap.
*Unfortunately... Uniqua had already run out of words of hope and encouragement. She at least tried to cheer him up. But Mettaton continued wailing.*
Uniqua: How did Frisk handle Napstablook?
Hothead: Need me to get anything to help?
Uniqua: Yeah, I might need some blankets, cushions, and chairs. I'm gonna have to build a pillow fort. And bring snacks and games, bro. This one is gonna be difficult.
Hothead: Alright, I'm on it.
