CHAPTER 8

So God didn't ghost Noah, the critters, or the livestock on the ark. He sent a wind to chill the waters out. He hit pause on the deep-sea geysers and the sky faucets, putting a hold on the rain. The waters took the hint and dipped, shrinking back over 150 days. On the seventh month, seventeenth day, the ark finally kicked back on Mount Ararat. The water kept ghosting until, by the tenth month, mountain tops started popping up like notifications.

After 40 days, Noah popped the ark's window for a sneak peek. He sent a raven to slide into the DMs of the outside world, which kept doing fly-bys until everything was dry. Then, Noah sent a dove to double-check if it was safe to leave read receipts on the ground. But the dove was like, "Nope, no place to land," and bounced back to the ark. Noah had to help her back in. Noah waited another week, then hit resend on the dove. That evening, the dove came back with an olive leaf, basically texting Noah, "We're good." Waited another week, sent the dove out again, and this time she left him on read—didn't come back.

By Noah's 601st, on New Year's Day, the earth was looking like a dry text conversation. Fast forward to the second month, twenty-seventh day, and it's all clear—earth's status: dry.

God's like, "Noah, it's time to slide out of the ark with your fam and all those animals. Bring everyone out, let's get the earth buzzing again with all the animals. Take all the creatures so they can vibe, multiply, and fill up the earth again."

Noah and the crew, plus the animal entourage, made their grand exit. Every animal group, doing their own thing, stepped out into the new world.

Noah went DIY and built an altar, picking from the clean crew for a BBQ offering to God. God caught a whiff of the BBQ and was feeling generous, "I'm not cursing the ground again because humans are born troublemakers. No more total wipeouts. As long as Earth's server is up, we're keeping all the seasons, day and night on a loop."
