I suppose, I had forgot to mention a few crucial things to the story. So let me backtrack again. Amelia and I were no longer friends. We had another fight that summer, and she and Colten said some things about me that I couldn't forgive. Oh yeah, they were also dating. I actually found out from Adriana that she had said these things about me.After that, I assumed Adriana wasn't talking to either of them anymore, I mean, why would she? I was excited because homecoming was quickly approaching on October 14th. Adriana and I had made plans to go together like we did before. I was really excited about it being my first high school dance and all. Again, I had hoped Haris would be my date, but whatever. At the park for pictures, I had a good time, and I did see Haris. Then we headed to the high school. I had planned to stick by Adriana the entire night. I mean, after all, we were going together. Before we left pictures, her huge friend group had planned to have a sleepover at this one girl Addie's house. Adriana promised me she was going to be there. I thought the plan was after the dance. We were all going back to Addie's house together. All of us, including Adriana. I had already confirmed the plan with my mom, and I told my mom that I wasn't going to Addie's house if Adriana wasn't there because I barely knew Addie. All of the girls going to the house for the sleepover were pretty popular, and Adriana was the only one I would really talk to. I thought the plane was set. My mom had the details already and would pick me up in the morning.
The night continued. It was fun. I was hanging around with people just conversing with everyone before the dance really started. Then we went into the gym where the dance floor was. Adriana didn't want to dance, which I didn't mind. We were just listening to the music, but I wanted to go have fun. Adriana kept dragging me around, trying to follow Emily and her friends. Our friend group kept splitting up and coming back together. It was starting to get confusing. One point we were in the commons near the bathrooms when I spotted Allie. Again, since I barely ever got to talk to this woman, I walked over to her. She was in line for the bathrooms, so I told Adriana,
"I'm going to talk to Allie really quick. Be right back."
So I went over to the line and talked to her. But when I turned around, Adriana was gone. I was confused now. I didn't know if Adriana assumed I was going to stick with Allie, because I obviously wasn't going to follow her into the crowded bathroom. I wanted to stick with Adriana, but she left. I looked everywhere in the commons and near the gym. I was not about to go into the gym by myself. No chance. So I waited for Allie to come out of the bathroom, and in distress, I told her what happened. I tried calling Adriana, then texting, then calling again. I knew she had her phone on her, but she wasn't answering me. When she did finally pick up, I asked,
"Where are you??"
And she explained that she had gone back into the gym. When I asked why, her answer was vague. So I decided that until I ran into her again, I was going to stay with Allie. I'm glad that I did because Adriana was no fun. I met up with Alexa and chatted with her for a bit. Allie and I went around and talked to all of our friends. I didn't mind that Adriana had disappeared, because I assumed we were all going to regroup again at the end of the night. But a little more than halfway through the dance, Adriana came up to me.
"I'm leaving."
"What?" I asked, confused. " I thought we were all going to stay here until it's over and then head back to Addie's house?"
"I'm going back to my house."
" Okay... but I thought I was writing with you? How am I supposed to get home?"
She offered to take me back to her house, but I declined. I wanted to stay and then go to a sleepover after. Because that was the plan. And being autistic, I hate when plans change. I was trying to enjoy my night. It was my first homecoming, after all. I wasn't about to leave it early. Though, as it came to an end, Allie left, and I hung out with Alexa.
I was really upset. I assumed Adriana was just tired and going to stay at her house for the rest of the night. But I needed a way to get home. I didn't want my mom to pick me up from homecoming alone. How lame is that? And there was no way I was going back to Addie's house without Adriana. Nobody else was available for a sleepover, so I just had Alexa take me home. I also wanted to ask Adriana what the heck happened because my mom needed an explanation as to why I wasn't going to Addie's house anymore.
