The next day, thursday, I got over in my nerves and texted him."What ANP do you have? Sophia said you have skaggs with RJ."
"Yeah I do, but I have to retake a history test.
"Aw. Its fine Sophia is making me go somewhere anyways."
"Alright"
Obviously, I was disappointed at the fact that I couldn't see him in ANP. But I also couldn't help but appreciate the fact that he didn't even question why I wanted to come to his ANP. Surely, that meant he wanted to see me..?
That Friday was even more eventful, if you can believe it.
I knew that lunch would be my only opportunity to talk to him on friday, but I was still terrified of having a conversation with him. At this point, I had talked to him, just not in person yet.
Which I definitely needed to, if this was going to go anywhere. As sophia, and I walked around the cafeteria, she spotted RJ. I stood by her while she talked to him, then noticed Emil standing near us. That was unusual because he wasn't anywhere near his table, and he wasn't talking to anybody. In fact, he was just sort of...lingering. While staring at me, of course. So as we walked by him, I gave him a casual wave. Which Sophia later told me was "not the move." Whatever. I didn't see anything wrong with it.After we finished our food, we went back into the cafeteria.
Ww walked over to Emil's table .and Sophia started talking to Josh. Emil turns to me and starts talking to me IN GERMAN.Okay, context is required for this. He didn't randomly just start speaking to me in german for no reason. The story that he replied to on wednesday was about me being german, and he replied in german then. And the small conversation we had, we had in german. So I wasn't confused.
But I was still a little in shock, and it took me a second to reply when he said,
"Wie gehts?""Uhmm...es gut."
"That's good."
After that, Josh and Sophia were still talking about something random. I was just standing around feeling awkward, so I sat down at the table. Which Sophia said was also not the move. I could agree with her on that one. It was pretty awkward. But Emil was the one who made it awkward with his surprise Duolingo attack.
(Not really, I thought it was cute)
That night, sophia, and I went to a football game, and the next day, I had my grandpa's funeral. Honestly, the only thing that got me through it was thinking about Emil.
I couldn't see him until Tuesday, so I was just counting down the seconds until I saw him again.
On Monday, Sophia and I both dared each other to send a reel to our crushes. It said "if we start talking now we could be doing cute couple stuff by Christmas".
Emils response was expected, he just gave it a thumbs up.
RJ's response, however, was less than ideal. He completely ignored the video. He started texting her about something random instead. What a bitch.
Anyways, after that, I texted Emil again and explained that it was a dare. He thought it was funny and said not to worry about it. To which I said,
"I did mean it, though."
"I mean whaaat who said that?"He responded: "🤔"
I replied "🤷🏼♀️"
He then responded to that by liking it with the actual heart emoji. So, I would say mission success.
We had another actual conversation on Tuesday. It was about a childhood friend that we both knew, not anything too serious.
That Thursday, we had made plans to meet in ANP (Again). But I found out the my pre-op for my surgery was at the exact same time. So plans fell through, again. And I ended up not going to school altogether. Reluctantly, I broke the news to him, which went like this:
