The phone, which had been neglected for some time, rang again. Yu Bai nudged An Shuting. "Go answer it."

An Shuting, feeling relaxed and unmotivated, didn't move. "I feel like my body is hollowed out. I can't move."

Yu Bai glanced at him with a smirk and leaned over to grab the phone from the bedside table. "I'll make you some turtle soup later. You're too weak."

An Shuting was about to argue, ready to tell Yu Bai to trust in science and not indulge in superstitions, but before he could say anything, the call connected and the phone was placed in front of him.

"An Shuting, where have you been? Don't you know what's happening online?"

The voice on the other end was loud, sharp, and filled with urgency. "Get back here now, immediately! The research institute has arranged an interview with CCTV for you. You need to clarify all this. You think everyone can just take a bite out of you? Are you that weak?"

An explosive voice boomed from the phone, and An Shuting couldn't help but flinch back from the force of it.

Once the person on the other end finished speaking, An Shuting finally had a chance to respond. "Got it."

Yu Bai raised an eyebrow, observing how the older person on the other end of the line was practically losing his temper while An Shuting remained calm. He then listened as the fifty-year-old mentor's frustration reached its peak.

"Little brat," the mentor growled. "The interview is set for tomorrow morning. You're just looking for trouble with that person named Xiao Xinping. After tomorrow, he'll understand that no conspiracy or trick can hold up against absolute strength."

The voice became more cutting. "And stop spending all your time on your little romance. Love is a luxury for fools. You don't deserve it. You're just a piece of trash. Hurry up and get back to work on a new project. If you don't work hard, your partner will leave you."

The mentor's words hit with a mixture of anger and disappointment, his voice full of reproach. An Shuting sighed quietly, knowing there was no point in arguing. He had heard it all before.

An Shuting poked Yu Bai, who was trying hard not to laugh. "Master's wife is divorcing you again. Do you want me to give you some advice on how to appease her?"

The loud voice on the other end of the phone fell silent for a while.

An Shuting simply smiled and said, "He has this temper. If you don't scold him, he treats you like a slave."

He then hugged Yu Bai and said, "If I'd known you earlier, we might have had a sweet campus romance. Why don't you prepare to be my junior next year?"

Yu Bai held his hand and paused for a moment. "When I was in high school, you were just in elementary school."

He hesitated before continuing, "Besides, I'm already studying. I'm too old now. How could I have the nerve to squeeze into the same classroom with those teenagers?"

An Shuting rested his chin on top of Yu Bai's head and teased, "What's the big deal? You're so old, and you still find a young boyfriend."

Yu Bai bit his shoulder and replied, "Didn't you offer yourself first?"
