Uh, Moon, I think I screwed up...?

Nibbler, for that matter, didn't even breathe. She stared at Vaskr in utter disbelief, a massive blush covering her face. I cringed when she finally forced herself to start breathing again, albeit with short, quick breaths. My eyes darted between the two dragons staring at one another in the moonlight, wondering if I was about to watch it all crumble down. Surely this wasn't part of Moon's plan? I needed to intervene—

Moon's voice stabbed into my mind. ~Keep. Your. Mouth. Shut.~ I obeyed with a gulp. Family or not, if Moon spoke to anyone using that tone, we listened. Except, perhaps, Auroon... but he was stubborn.

Vaskr cracked open an eye, then slowly opened them both, his ears perking up as if not expecting Nibbler to be there still. "I... I love you," he whispered. "...I think. I-It's so strong..." Then, I realized something.

Vaskr's time was up, but Nibbler was still listening

"I-I really do," he whispered, tears in his eyes. "Even if we are stuck apart right now, I r-really love you. Please... believe me..."

Nibbler's breaths were staggered, saying nothing, almost as if waiting for something. I couldn't be sure what she was waiting for, but it made her give Vaskr a few more seconds, and that meant something.

~He's not saying it. Stormfly, pressure your son! He thinks he has all the time in the world when he doesn't!~

But your plan—

~Shut up and do it!~

I had just the idea. "Okay," I interjected, seeing Nibbler's ears droop at my voice. "I gave you extra time, but time's up."

Suddenly, it was as if someone had kicked Vaskr in the tail. "W-Wait!" Vaskr yelped. "One more thing! Nibbler, I-I want to spend the rest of my life with you! Please..." Nibbler's ears perked back up. "Please, be m-my life-mate?" He finished in a whisper.

I tensed in anticipation. Was this what Moon wanted?

That seemed to be what Nibbler was waiting for. Tears flooded her eyes, and she smiled shyly, giving Vaskr a soft giggle and nodding several times.

A shaky breath rushed out of Vaskr as he trembled with a giddy smile, elated beyond belief. "I-I can't believe it," he whined. "I'm so glad..."

I snorted softly and smiled a little, watching the two young dragons stare at each other so affectionately that it made my heart melt. So, this was your new plan, huh?

~Do they look happy?~

So happy they're crying, I confirmed.

~Haaah... Then, I call it a success. Not as joyful as my original plan, I bet, but they deserve something close. This was the best I could do.~

I took in their delighted smiles and eyes that spoke a thousand words. I hope you have a plan to keep them apart, too. I have a feeling they're gonna be... difficult.

~Not a problem. I got Astra to find some Dragonweed for the occasion. I'll get her to slip it into their fish or something. They'll be konked out for a whiiile...~
