Chapter 4

I woke up and can't found Valerie on my bed. I make my way to bathroom and found no one. I went to the kitchen but there's just Gee. "Good morning, Mikes, want a coffee?" He asked without turn around to see me "Yes, please. Hey, did you see Val?" I asked
"Oh, she was watching TV with me, but then her father come here and bring her back home. She looks so scared, even her father told her it's okay for leaving and staying at her boyfriend's last night." He said and bring 2 cups of coffee and give a cup for me. Why did she's scared? Her father told her it's okay, right? But at least she's with her father now, she will be safe.

"So how can you two met?" Gerard said and take me back to reality
"Who and who?" I asked
"You and her, of course"
"Oh, right. First of all, she's not my girlfriend, and we met at the small coffee shop near here about 2 weeks ago" I drink my coffee
"Did you like her?" Gerard asked, make me almost choked
"She's weird, Gerard. I mean, not in that way. The first time I saw her, she's like have no weight on her shoulders. But then, she entered the coffee shop, crying, and holding a knife. She walked to me and give me the knife, she told me to kill herself" I explained everything
"And then why you ended up bring her home?" Gerard asked again
"Well, two weeks after which you can say yesterday. I walked to wherever my feet bring me. And then I arrived at a park, I saw a girl crying and holding a knife. I felt afraid about what she would do to herself. I watched her and move closer. She wanted to stabbed herself! Of course I stopped her and run after her."
"And the girl who wants to stabbed herself is Val?" Gerard asked and I nodded in response
"And then I walk her back home, she kissed me on my cheek which make me froze. Then you called me, I want to walk back home but then I heard screaming from inside her house. I get inside her house and found a guy who want to rape her. And that's why I bring her here." I finished my coffee and put the empty cup on the sink. I looked at Gerard who make a confused look, his hair looks similar as Valerie's.

I showering and thinking about her. I still have 2 questions on my mind. First, what happened to her? Second, why did she afraid of her own father? I wrapped towel on myself but then Gerard get inside the bathroom with panicked look
"Look Mikey. I don't know why you are so stupid. I know why she was afraid, her father is the one who abuse her!" I open my eyes wider in shock
"But, how do you know for sure?"
"I'm guessing. How can a daughter felt so afraid to her father? All I know is, all little girls is daddy's girl."
I run to my bedroom and dressed. I must found her. I run from my bedroom and run away to her house. I knocked on her door and a man come to open it "Can I help you?" He said nicely "Is it Valerie's? I'm her friend" I said "Oh, she's working now. You can come back at 6." I didn't know she have a job, I mean it looks like she still at high school "Where did she work?" I asked and the man looks like don't like it "At a minimarket, she's a cashier. Anything else?" He asked impatiently, I shook my head in response. That was a different guy from the guy last night, maybe he is her father. Gerard was wrong, her father wasn't the one who abuse her. I just walk to a minimarket, and hope i was the right place.

I walk in and found her. One point for Mikey Way. "Hey" I said to her. She looks so shocked and she just said "What are you doing here?" I grabbed a bottle of water and pay it "Meet you. Why you run away?" I said, studied her face, she looks so scared. "No I didn't. I need to work. You should go before my boss come here" she said and push me a little like usual "When will your shift end?" I asked, she look at her watch "2 hours from now. Now go" She said and I turn around to go home. "So?" Gerard said as soon as I walk into the house. There are Frank and Ray too. "She's fine. You were wrong." I said and Gee sigh in relief. "What happened?" Ray asked and then I explain anything to both of Ray and Frank. "She's confusing" Frank said "All of the girls confusing" Ray said and rest his back on the couch "So, when will the practice start?" I asked and Gerard shook his head "We're not practicing until you can clear your mind off. You will do terrible shit at practice if you don't" Yeah that's right. He's right and always right. Her shift will end in 2 hours, I sit on the couch and watch a movie with the rest to kill my time. In the middle of the movie, I stood up and said "I need to go to somewhere" I said and grabbed my phone. 

I walk to the minimarket, I didn't get inside, I just wait outside and it's just about 5 minutes until her shift end. Finally a girl come to me "You didn't wait for me for 2 hours, did you?" I turn around and see her, I give her my best smile. We walk hand in hand to my house, I opened the door and found no one in the living room, I guess they were in basement and get drunk, I wish Gerard and Frank don't ended up fucking each other like the last time they get drunk. I opened my bedroom door and let her in "You want to drink something?" I asked and she shook her head. We sit on my bed and like usual, she makes the gap between us two. "You want to talk about it?" I asked, make her to look straight in my eyes "Explain what?" She asked me back "About anything, please" I said and hold her hand. I'm not going to lose her. She let out a heavy sigh "But promise me something" She said and I nodded "Don't tell anyone, and don't leave me" She said and I nodded again "I promise" I said and close the gap between us to hold her close to me.
