We're heading back to the resort as the evening sets in. Yesterday was rough, and today's looking no different. I got booted from my own tent, thanks to my so-called buddy, who ditched us to spend the night with his girlfriend. So now I'm stuck bunking with Samrudh and Aakib.
The guy's been rubbing it in nonstop that he's the only one in a relationship, which is ironic for someone who's dated half the world.
But in his words, "dating" and "being in a relationship" are two totally different things, and I didn't bother arguing—mostly because if I had to listen to any more of his sappy Isha stories ,my fist might accidentally find his perfect face.
The only reason I haven't shut him up is because Myra and the other girls love listening to him talk. It's as if they haven't already heard Isha's version of the same story.
Not that I was eavesdropping, but I accidentally overheard them gushing over it. Prii even said hearing it from Kiaan's perspective somehow makes it better.
So here I am, doing my best to tolerate him without pushing my best friend and his love of his life off a cliff while they retell how he knew she was 'the one' because she waited for him.
For the record, I know this whole story inside and out, but they're glossing over the ugly parts, probably because Kiaan doesn't like sharing details about his past mishaps. Not that it stops him from talking about it in front of us anyway.
"I didn't know Malhotra could talk this much," Aakib groans, looking as fed-up as the rest of us. We're practically hostages here, thanks to Eve insisting we all bond.
"Normally, he barely speaks," Samrudh grunts, shaking his head. "I'm starting to think he's lost it. He's been acting strange lately."
"I know right?," Aakib grumbles. "This morning, some girl asked him to pass the juice at breakfast, and he said, 'I have a girlfriend.' I swear, Evyaan, if he pulls that again, I'm out." He sighed.
"Why the hell are you telling me?" I shoot back. "I'm not in on this."
"Thank God you're not," Samrudh chuckles, only to get a sharp elbow from Evaana. Aakib straightens up and clams up as soon as he sees her glare.
"Just shoot me if you ever catch me acting like that over a girl," Aakib mutters.
"Yeah, same here," Samrudh mumbles, earning themselves another glare from Eve.

"Kiaan Malhotra wins again!" The crowd roared as Kiaan claimed another arm-wrestling victory.
"We can trust him with this, I guess," Aakib said, watching the match intently. Kiaan had insisted on representing our group alone, and he was holding his own. He's strong, no question about it, but his next opponent is someone we all dislike, at least, I thought we did.
