Love lies

Chapter 22-drunken confessions

Rocky and Avni arrived upstairs and Rocky glanced over his shoulder, letting out a huge sigh.

"That was mean Rocky" Avni said, crossing her arms and he squinted his eyes. She pointed towards Reena's room door and he let out an oh sound. 

"I actually need your help, and you came at the perfect time" Rocky said and she let out a small chuckled, indicating him to speak.

Rocky leaned against the room door, his huge frame casting a shadow on the floor. "Reena, i love her with all my heart. But this stubborn girl isn't telling me she loves me back. Now i heard people in love are the most jealous" he said with a slight grin and Avni shook her head, amused by his revelation.

"Alright, here's the plan. We get Reena to see us—together—and make her think we're... I don't know, something more than just friends. That'll drive her nuts." Rocky said, adjusting his sleeves and Avni looked at him like he was stupid.

"You really think that'll work? Reena's not exactly the jealous type. I know this girl and she is definitely not the type to get openly jealous to the point she confesses her feelings" Avni said cautiously. 

"Yeah, but she cares about me. I know it. She just needs a little push. If she sees me with you, she'll realize what she's missing. And then... bam, she'll confess. Trust me." Rocky said optimistically.

Avni raised an eyebrow, sceptical but intrigued. "Hmm, so I'm just a tool in your master plan?"

"Not just a tool, Avni. You're my secret weapon. You're perfect for this. You know how to get under her skin without even trying." he grins widely, almost picturing her cute jealous face.

He walks over to her, gesturing at Reena's room door, as if showing it to Avni. "Just wait. She's gonna crack, I can feel it. And then... it's game over." Avni shakes her head, clearly amused by his optimism. They share a conspiratorial grin, both knowing they're about to stir things up.

"Fine lets do this" Avni said hi-fi Rocky as they both shared a scheming look.

Reena woke up in an off mood, her mind replaying the incidents of last night. She rolled her eyes, seeing everyone laughing by the dining table. 

It went silent as soon as Reena entered and her dad signalled her to join them all. Reena looked over at Rocky, then at Avni who was sitting on the seat where Reena used to sit. 

A wave of insecurity and jealousy washed over Reena as she saw them giggling and smiling so early in the morning. Avni noticed Reena's off expression and lightly nudged Rocky, signalling him to look at Reena.  

Avni turned to Reena, putting on the best good girl face. "Reena are you okay, you look a little dull?" Avni asked innocently and Reena mentally rolled her eyes but put on a small smile shaking her head. 

"Just tired" Reena mumbled, nibbling on her bread. Rocky felt a little bad but knew that his plan was succeeding.  

"Anyways i had so much fun last night Avni" Rocky said deliberately loud and this caught Reena's attention, causing her to choke on her food. 

Rocky rushed over giving her a glass of water, that she pulled out his hands, glaring at him as she drank it. He gave her a sheepish smile, turning to Avni.

"Omg yes, that game of chess was so fun. We should totally play again" she lied. 

"Also Rocky, I'm coming after so long. Why dont you give me a tour of KGF?" she proposed and Rocky turned to Reena, giving her a look and turned to Avni, plastering a smile on his face.
