Rocky was first to awake. His body stiff and uneasy, his muscles sore and tense. He was about to move but an anchor held him down.
That's when his eyes travelled down to the sight of Reena, half laying on the bed, fast asleep holding tightly to his hand. His eyes, set in an expression of shock, slowly softened. He let out a small smile, his eyes shining with admiration as her eyes slowly fluttered to life.
Reena's morning eyes bore into Rocky's as she slowly sat up, stretching her sore muscles. Rocky's small smile was enough to break through her tough demeanour, touching her tender heart. She held back a sob as she got up, attempting to leave but Rocky caught her before she could.
"Chinna please" his voice was barely a whisper, a voice in the wind.
"I'm sorry" she sobbed and Rocky sighed, opening his arms, beckoning her over. Reena reluctantly shook her head and he asked again. This time she gave up, sitting next to him on the bed, her head leaning against his shoulder.
"Iga eke i kanniru" he asked, wiping her tears and she just sniffled, leaning closer.
(Now why these tears)
"Your hurt because of me" she said and he sighed, shaking his head.
"Idu? Idu kevala ondu sanna gayavagide. Adallade nanage gundu harisuvudagi bedarike hakiddu ninalla. Iga nanu gundu harisiddene endu nivu bhayapaduttiri. Nivu nijavagiyu asaktidayaka patradhari Chinna" Rocky said trying to lighten the mood but Reena's grip on his bicep tightened.
(This? this is just a small injury. Besides weren't you the one that threatened to shoot me. Now your scared that ive been shot. You really are an interesting character chinna)
"I didn't mean to, i was so scared that something would happen to you" Reena whispered and Rocky froze. She was concerned for him. After his mother, she was the first person that was genuinely concerned for his well being.
"Nothing happened, ill be okay dont worry" he said with a small laugh and Reena looked up, her eyes lingering a second longer then usual. When they lock eyes, it feels as if the world pauses, leaving only the silent exchange of their souls.
Their gazes speak volumes—of unspoken desires, whispered promises, and the vulnerability of being truly seen. In that intimate connection, words become unnecessary, and the depth of their emotions flows freely, a language only they can understand.
It's a moment both electrifying and tender, where the distance between them disappears, leaving nothing but the raw, unfiltered truth of their hidden love.
Just before things could escalate further, the maid arrived with a bowl of soup. The two of them quickly moved apart, keeping a respectful distance between each other, as if trying to erase the connection they just had.
"Soup, Mattu Bhabhi Vanaram sir kelage nimagagi kayuttiddare" the maid said and handed the soup bowl to Reena who nodded.
(Soup, and Bhabhi Vanaram sir is waiting for you downstairs)
Reena silently fed him the soup and Rocky tried his best to ignite the fire and pure vulnerability inside Reena but it was like her amour was put up again, her words back to its calculated form. As if her true thoughts were like a weapon against her, spilling secrets she didn't wish to share.
The sound of the phone echoed in the room and Reena moved over, grabbing the phone from the receiver and handing it to Rocky. Shetty was on the other hand, mocking Rocky. His taunt was deliberate as if to prove a sick point to him.
No matter how hard he tries, someone will always be a step ahead of him. He was willing to take all the jokes from Shetty as he knew his time was limited anyways but what he wasn't ready to hear was his disgusting comment about Reena.
