Chapter 21-jealousy

Reena awoke to the loud sounds of laughter and chatting outside her room. She glanced to her side to find her mom gone. She sighed, rubbing her eyes and getting ready for the morning. 

Reena made her way to the dining room where she could here murmuring coming from her Mom and Rocky.

Rocky looked over his shoulder to see Reena coming and ushered Revathi over. "She's coming okay ready 3...2...1" he counted down and Revathi put up a big smile caressing Rocky's face.

"Oh my amazing son, come lets eat so you can be healthy and take good care of my daughter" Revathi was being over affectionate, on purpose to tease Reena. Reena came into scene, dramatically rolling her eyes at her mothers drama. 

"Athai-actually Nanu ninne tumba kastapatte, nanna kaigalu noyuttive. Can you feed me?" he asked, purposefully stealing a glance at Reena to try catch her reaction. 

(I worked so hard yesterday, my hands are all hurting)

Reena glared at Rocky, looking at his hands and scoffed. "They look fine to me" Reena muttered at Revathi held back a laugh, seeing her daughter so annoyed.

"Really, then you feed me" Rocky said walking over to Reena who's eyes widened. She shook her head and he smirked turning to Revathi.

"Leave her Beta, ill feed you come-lets eat" she said leading Rocky to the table where Rocky sat at the head, Reena to his left and Revathi to his right. Revathi forwarded a bite for Rocky who took it whilst staring at Reena who rolled her eyes.

Rocky playfully smirked at Reena's reaction and decided to put more salt on the wound. "Oh your so sweet Athai" he said and surprising Reena, he leaned forward and pecked Revathi's cheek. Reena's eyes widened as she stood up, her fist clench.

"Appa swami. Thaanga mudiyale. Ithalam too much theriyumaa. Ithule Athai makan drama vera. I cant deal with this. Neenkalum unga loosu makanum" Reena said dramatically bringing her hands together. 

(Dear god. I cant take this anymore. This is too much you know. And your mother-in-law son-in-law drama on top of this. I cant deal with this. You and your stupid son)

She scoffed, storming off and Rocky and Revathi waited till she was gone. They turned to each other before bursting out laughing. 

Revathi hi-fi Rocky who was practically dying off laughter. "Dont worry we'll get her to confess it soon enough" Revathi said, patting Rocky's shoulder who suddenly sulked, looking down. 

"Yeah i hope. Its just that at one moment i think she does and the other i think she doesn't. But i want to know what's stopping her from telling me she's in love" Rocky admitted sadly and Revathi nodded understandingly.

"Every women is afraid that the life she imagined with her love wont be as she dreamed. But i know you will make every one of her dreams a reality. She will realise eventually. Just have some patience dear" Revathi said calmly and Rocky nodded.

The next few days flowed by like a breeze. Rocky and Revathi continued to team up, trying to milk a love confession out of Reena but it seemed impossible. 

For every step they took forward, it seemed she took 2 steps back. However one thing Reena noticed was that the last few days Rocky seemed more distant. 

As if he was holding something back. He would talk to her but it felt different, ignorant. Reena awoke to her mother's hands rushing though her hair. Her eyes fluttered open as she smiled.

"Happy birthday my dear" her mother tenderly whispered. Reena then remembered it was her birthday. 

She had been so busy in her own whirlwind that she forgot the special day. Her mother hugged her and handed her a small gift. A beautiful saree that shone bright in the sunlight.
