Chapter 27-father's approval

Reena was busy in her room when her best friend walked in, sitting next to her. Reena's eyes didn't leave her book and Parvati let out a long sigh, grabbing the book from Reena's hands.

"How many more days will you remain like this?" Parvati asked as Reena remained mum.

"I'm serious Reena" She warned and Reena kissed her teeth, grabbing the book and opening it, trying to divert her attention.

"What else do you want me to do Paro?" Reena asked irritated and Parvati placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Talk to him. Make him understand how you feel. Avarum paavam illai. How long are you going to ignore him for?" Parvati asked.

(We should feel bad for him too right)

Its true. Since Adheera died, Reena has been ignoring Rocky. For the last 1 week they haven't exchanged one word to each other and despite Rocky's numerous efforts to speak with her, she just ignored him or left.

Rocky was confused why as he didn't do anything to upset Reena. "Fine, if i see him ill talk okay. Now stop taking your Jiju's side for once" Reena scoffed and Parvati chuckled, nodding.

Rocky sat in his office, the rhythmic tapping of his pen against his forehead doing very little to soothe him.

The election is in less than a week and on top of all that Reena has been ignoring him. He was beyond confused by her sudden change.

Everything was going so well between them and suddenly she pulls this stunt. As if the universe was listening, right then, Reena and Vaishnavi were walking in the corridor.

Rocky popped out into the corridor and saw the girls smiling and talking. They both froze seeing Rocky and Vaishnavi glanced at Reena as if asking what to do but she just grabbed her arm and walked the opposite way.

"Reena" he called out, his voice subtle at first but growing, with the power to shake everything to its core.

Reena gulped, peering her head over her shoulder to see Rocky who looked like a ragged lion, his body leaning against the pillar.

Vaishnavi glanced at Rocky who gave her a small smile and she sighed, turning back to Reena. "You guys talk ill go. Bye Jiju" she said awkwardly, giving Reena's arm a comforting squeeze as if to lend her some courage and she walked off, leaving the two of them in the empty corridor.

He walked over, grabbing Reena's arm and dragging her into his office so they could be more private.

"May i know why your avoiding me?" he asked, his voice heavy with a longing that Reena couldn't describe. She remained planted in her spot, nervously looking at her feet.

"I dont think this will work Rocky" she murmured and he sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"What?" he asked annoyed and she gulped.

"Lets just forget about everything" she said and he grew more and more frustrated by Reena's indirect answers.

"Forget about what?" Rocky asked, growing more agitated by the second.

"OUR LIFE" she exploded, finally meeting his eyes.

Rocky let out and exasperated breathe, clearing his throat. "Nanage arthavaguttilla Chinna" he said and sighed, biting her lip.

(I dont understand)

"I cant live with you for the rest of my life and die everyday worrying about your safety" Reena finally admitted and Rocky held back a genuine smile.
