After getting ready ,Yash drags Saanvi downstairs as he carried both of their luggage in one hand.
Downstairs Kavita and her husband Mahir were having tea.
Both got shocked seeing them coming with the luggage. Kavita was standing there didn't thought that the yesterday matter will drag too much. She was now feeling guilty to interfere between the couple.
"Tum log ja kaha rahe ho, beta?" Mahir asked, rising from his chair, his voice tinged with confusion. He was still in the dark about the argument that had unfolded.
Without a word, Yash's piercing gaze fell on his mother, who averted her eyes, her own guilt more visible than she would have liked.
“Apne ghar wapas jaa rahe hain, Dad,” Yash finally replied, his tone calm but edged with hurt.
"Itni jaldi kyun?" Mahir asked, the shock evident. He looked to Saanvi, who managed only a small, sad smile in return, not wanting to burden him with the details.
“Kya ho raha hai yaha? Koi batayega mujhe?” he demanded, his patience slipping.
“Yeh aap Mom se hi puch lijiye, Dad Unhone kya kiya hai, hain na, Mom?” Yash’s voice was laced with bitterness.
Mahir’s gaze fell on his wife, stunned and finally piecing together the tension that hung heavy in the air. Kavita’s face flushed with regret as she shifted her gaze to Saanvi, her eyes brimming with guilt.
With tears welling up, Kavita stepped closer to her daughter-in-law, her voice a mere whisper,
“Kal jo maine tumhare saath kiya, woh nahi hona chahiye tha… Bohut galat kiya tumhare saath. Main bas help karna—”
But Yash interrupted sharply, “Aap help nahi kar rahi thi, Mom. You insulted her with your questions, that’s all.”
'Yash please...' Saanvi held his arm.
He sighed calming himself a bit,
'Aapko maafi magne ki zarurat nahi hain mom..mujhe laga yaha aa k hum ek sath time spend kar sakte hain.. enjoy kar sakte hain..par aapko toh khushi bardash nahi hoti..toh isliye hum wapas jaa rahe hain...'
Kavita shook her head. Her heart pinched hearing the painful words from her son's mouth.
'Its ok mom.. I understood aap kabhi Saanvi ko accept nahi kar sakte .. isliye woh apse jitna dur rahe wahi behatar hain'.
Kavita’s eyes sought Saanvi’s, a silent plea for help.
Saanvi stare at her husband, 'Yash ekbar mom ki baat--'
'Chalo, papa se aashirwad leke yaha se chalte hain. Hum log already late ho chuke hain' he said dragging her.
Both take blessings from Mahir. He did it happily but didn't stop them because this time Kavita has too realise her mistake.
They leave from there, Kavita tries to stop them..
'Munnaa...' she cries.
But Mahir held her back gently, murmuring, “Jaane do un dono ko, Kavita.”
Tears streaming down her face, Kavita turned to him, pleading, “Main maanti hoon, maine galat kiya… par aap toh rok sakte the na.”
But Mahir remained silent, his eyes filled with both sympathy and a firm resolve, knowing that sometimes, words could be meaningless until lessons were truly learned.
