Zatariel Wov

His Pov

I woke up because of the cold.

I opened my eyes and saw it was already dark.

7:49 pm.

I had been sleeping for about 6 hours, lost in a dream world where Mimi and I were free from Thyron's suffocating presence.

But reality was a harsh wake-up call.

I washed my face, changed clothes, and hurried out to have dinner, hoping to forget the image of them kissing in the pool.

As soon as I opened the door, I heard someone singing.
I immediately recognized the voice it's Mimi's.

I saw her holding a microphone, her eyes focused on the screen as she sang.
Two girls and Thyron were cheering her on.

"All I really want is to hold you tight
Treat you right
Be with you day and night
Baby, all I need is time
Just hang around and you'll see
There's nowhere I'd rather be
If you love me, trust in me
The way that trust in you"

Kyliah/Marie/Mimi: Sometimes I run (sometimes)
Sometimes I hide
Sometimes I'm scared of you (ooh, ooh)
But all I really want is to hold you tight (hold you tight)
Treat you right
Be with you day and night (day and night)

The two girls were singing along with her.
I just stared at her, my heart aching with a mixture of longing and jealousy.
I couldn't understand how she could be so happy, so carefree, after what I had seen.

The song finished, and Mimi looked at me, her face breaking into a bright smile.
She walked towards me, her eyes sparkling.

"Hey, you were locked in your room for a long time. I knocked but you didn't answer earlier."

"I fell asleep. I just woke up," I mumbled, avoiding her gaze.

She looked at my face, her fingers gently touching my eyes.
I closed my eyes automatically, unable to bear the touch of her concern.

"Oh my, you're already homesick on the first day? Are you okay? You can still go home on weekdays, you can still meet your family, don't be sad, Riel."
I took her hand, gently lowering it.

I looked away, my heart heavy.

"Nah, I'm okay. You don't have to mind me," I said, trying to sound unconcerned.

Mimi just nodded and made me sit next to Kyliah.

I tried to focus on Mimi's cheerful face, but all I could think about was the kiss, the way Thyron had held her, the way she had looked up at him with such trust.

I couldn't shake the feeling that I was losing her, losing her to him.

She disappeared into the kitchen, her laughter mingling with the clatter of dishes and the sizzling sounds of something cooking.

The aroma of garlic, soy sauce, and vinegar wafted out, making my stomach rumble with anticipation.

When she returned, she was carrying a plate piled high with rice and what looked like adobo.

A shy smile lit up her face as she walked towards me, and she handed me the plate.
I accepted it, feeling a warmth spread through me at her thoughtfulness.

She made a waiting sign with her hand and went back to the kitchen.
The sound of her footsteps echoed on the polished floor.
She came back to the living room again, carrying a glass of water, a spoon, and a fork.

"Anou~ It was my first time but ahm tu-"

Mimi couldn't finish what she was saying when Thyron suddenly pulled her, his hand gripping her arm.
She almost dropped the glass she was holding.
Luckily, I caught it right away, the cool glass feeling smooth against my palm.

"Baby, you're my girlfriend, and you're serving another guy in front of me," Thyron said, his voice laced with possessiveness.

Girl friend?
What?
My heart sank.

I looked at Mimi, who was just looking down, biting her lower lip, her cheeks flushed.

I didn't want to believe what Thyron said.
It could just be a joke, a misunderstanding.

"S-sorry, Ron. I'm not used to this yet. You wait here, I'll get you some food too," Mimi stammered, her voice barely a whisper.

Her eyes darted nervously between me and Thyron, and I saw a flicker of fear in their depths.

Mimi went back to the kitchen, and Thyron sat down, his gaze fixed on me, a dangerous glint in his eyes.

"Eh? You and Exy are boyfriend and girlfriend? She didn't tell me earlier," Marie said, her voice laced with curiosity.

"We just became official a while ago," Thyron said, his voice smug.

"What? That's kinda weird? I mean Romantic," Kyliah said, rolling her eyes

Thyron just nodded.

So they only became a couple a while ago.
Wait, Mimi didn't tell me that this jerk was courting her.

"I'm so lucky with Exy, she didn't make me court her anymore.
She said we're meant to be, so why bother with the courtship, haha," Thyron said, his voice dripping with arrogance.

"Really?," Marie asked crossing her arms.

I choked on the lump in my throat.
The words felt like a punch to the gut.

I quickly drank water, the cool liquid doing little to soothe the burning in my chest.
