Third person point of view
Wolves' headquarters in Yellow City.
A month had passed since the city had sealed itself off, an impenetrable fortress guarded by an electric barrier that hummed with a silent threat.
The Wolves had managed to infiltrate the city's systems, using satellites to communicate with their agents inside.
But the city's complete lockdown, despite no reported infections, had raised suspicions.
Zaren, his brow furrowed with worry, paced the room, his gaze fixed on the screen displaying a live feed from Green City.
He couldn't reach his son, Zatariel, and the silence was deafening.
The Mimic Virus had spread, and the world was on edge.
"We're here, Zaren," Diannah said, her voice firm, a reassuring presence in the midst of the chaos. "We have entered Yellow City. And we're going to find out what's going on."
Damian, his alien features etched with a mix of weariness and concern, stepped forward. "Miexha and Zatariel are safe. They're just... somewhere in the city."
Diannah, her eyes softening, smiled.
"Miexha is competing in a competition, right? We'll just meet them there and give them a good scolding for being so naughty."
The tension in the room eased slightly, but Diannah's smile faded as she turned to Damian.
Her gaze was sharp, demanding an explanation.
"Damian, why did you spread the virus?"
Damian's eyes met hers, a flicker of regret passing through them. "It wasn't my intention to spread it. The Mimic Virus was a project of the Wayne Botanical Gardens. They were developing it as a bio-pesticide. But the real reason... it was designed to spread twenty years from now. To turn humans into suitable food for ancient creatures."
He paused, his voice low, a sense of urgency in his tone.
" a dormant ancient virus called the Chlorophyll Virus. Green City, with its abundance of greenery and warm climate, became a breeding ground for it."
"The Chlorophyll Virus?" Zaren asked, his voice laced with disbelief.
"It causes a gradual transformation in infected individuals," Damian explained.
"Their skin turns green, their bodies become more plant-like"
Damian continued, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"As they become more plant-like, they lose their humanity. They become driven by instinct, seeking to spread the virus and transform the world into a vast, green wilderness."
"Dad engineered the cells of the virus," Marie, Damian's hybrid creation, said, her voice soft but firm.
She pulled out a tablet, displaying evidence they had stolen from the Botanical Gardens.
"They were planning to turn humans into vegetables. It was a horrifying plan."
The Wolves stared at the images on the tablet, their faces etched with disbelief.
If Damian hadn't interfered with the project, the world would have faced a disaster twenty years from now.
Lolita, her fingers flying across her keyboard, added,
"But Green City is suffering great damage. And Orange City is also affected. Even after they released a vaccine, the virus affected the skin of some people. Especially the women, their skin is turning green."
Damian was startled by the news.
"I engineered the cells of the virus. It was supposed to be a mimic virus that would die down within two weeks. But why is the skin turning green? It wasn't supposed to be a side effect. The virus is more dangerous than I expected."
The room fell silent. The Wolves, faced with the reality of the situation, knew that they were in a race against time.
The Mimic Virus was a threat, but the Chlorophyll Virus was a nightmare waiting to unfold.
Diannah, her gaze sharp, turned to Damian, her voice laced with suspicion.
"What really are you? And why should we trust you?"Kyliah stepped forward, her voice firm, a glimmer of defiance in her eyes.
"Trust him. He's not the enemy. He's helping us."
Marie, her gaze fixed on Kyliah, nodded in agreement.
"As much as we wanted to tell you more, we couldn't. The enemies already noticed our interference. We were able to minimize the future disaster somehow."
Damian, his green eyes flashing with a warning, placed a hand on Marie's shoulder, silencing her.
"Marie, enough. They'll hear you."
Diannah's curiosity, fueled by the cryptic statements, was piqued.
"Who are they that you keep talking about? Who are you scared of?"
Damian cut her off, his voice low, a sense of urgency in his tone.
"Stop. Just know this is something alien that wants to inhabit the earth."
His green eyes, usually calm and reserved, glowed with an intensity that seemed to command attention.
Diannah, caught in the intensity of his gaze, felt a strange compulsion to obey.
It was as if he had a power over her, a power that she couldn't quite understand.
The room was silent, the only sound the faint hum of the electric barrier outside.
The Wolves, their faces etched with a mix of fear and curiosity, looked at Damian, their minds reeling from the revelations. They had been fighting a virus, but now they were facing something far more sinister.
They were facing an unknown invasion.
