Thyron Sebastian

His pov

The fluorescent lights hummed overhead, glowing over the rows of cages.

Each one held a different specimen, ahh yess, my obsession.

The sound of meows and chirps filled the basement, a chorus of captive souls, unaware of their role in my grand design.

My pet shop, Chimera's Corner, was a front, a clever disguise for my true passion.

The public saw a young entrepreneur, a lover of animals, but I knew better.
I am born to become a scientist, a pioneer, and this lab, hidden beneath the brightly lit shelves of cat toys and dog treats, was my sanctuary.

My gaze flicked to the caged feline, a ginger cat with eyes like emeralds.
It hissed, a low, guttural sound that sent shivers down my spine, a sound that fueled my obsession.

"Ah, kitty cat," I murmured, approaching a black feline, her emerald eyes narrowed with suspicion.

She hissed, a low rumble in her throat, but I ignored it.

"Don't worry, my dear," I said, my voice was low.
"You're just a stepping stone, a mere ingredient in a far grander recipe."

I poured water into her bowl, the clinking of the ceramic against the metal cage a jarring note in the  silent basement.

"You see, my dear," I continued, my gaze fixed on the cat's unblinking stare,
"you are a marvel of nature, a testament to the intricate beauty of feline anatomy. Your sleek muscles, your razor-sharp claws, your incredible senses- all perfectly designed for survival. But I seek something more, something beyond mere survival."

My fingers traced the intricate pattern of veins on the glass of the cage, my mind buzzing with plans.
"I am soon to become a great scientist. This pet shop is merely a facade, a veil to hide my true purpose. Ahh, I am truly a genius."

I glanced at the cat again, her eyes still fixed on me, her body tense.
"I've studied your kind, dissected your brethren, and I understand your secrets. The possibilities are endless. With a little... manipulation, a little... intervention, I can unlock the potential of your kind, create something truly extraordinary."

A low growl escaped the cat's throat, a challenge I ignored.
"I'm almost there my dear. Soon I'll be creating chimeras, the creatures of myth and legend, brought to life through my own ingenuity. And you, my dear, are the next step on that journey."

I smiled,
"Soon, the world will know my name, Dr. Thyron Sebastian, the man who dared to defy the natural order, the man who brought the mythical to life."

I turned away, leaving the cat to her silent contemplation.

The meows and chirps seemed to echo my own thoughts, a chorus of anticipation for the future I was building, a future where I would be hailed as a genius, a visionary, a god.

My fingers tracing the delicate lines of a feline skull, the intricate network of bones.

"A masterpiece," I murmured, my voice a low rumble,
"a testament to the power of nature, and soon, the power of science."

"Soon, you'll be more than you ever dreamed of," I promised, my voice laced with a hint of cruel amusement.
"You'll be a legend"

I could almost taste the sweet victory of my ambition.

Zatariel, the arrogant fool, would be left in the dust.
He couldn't even fathom the depths of my intellect, the brilliance of my vision.

"Exy," I whispered, a soft sigh escaping my lips.
"You'll be proud of me, my love. Just wait until you see what I've accomplished."

The image of her, radiant and beautiful, bloomed in my mind.
She was the missing piece, the key to unlocking the doors of the Wayne Academy.
With her by my side, I would be unstoppable.

The scent of disinfectant and pet food lingered in the air, a mundane backdrop to my grand ambitions.

I am not just a mere shopkeeper, I am a creator, a sculptor of life itself.

"Soon, my love," I murmured, my voice a promise,
"Soon, the world will know the name of Dr. Thyron Sebastian."
