His pov
The Green Garden Laboratory was thick with the scent of ozone and a faint, metallic tang.
The humming machinery and the soft, rhythmic beeping of monitors fill.My breath caught in my throat as Mr. Hamilton pressed his security card against the door panel, the green light flashing, and the lock clicking open.
"Welcome, to the Green Garden Laboratory," a woman in a white lab coat greeted us, her voice a sterile monotone.
"We're expecting you." She led us down a sterile corridor, the walls lined with gleaming metal cabinets, each emblazoned with cryptic labels like
"Bio-Component Storage" and
"Neural Interface Testing."Mr. Hamilton's eyes scanned the data panels, his fingers tracing the holographic displays with a practiced ease.
I followed close behind, my gaze lingering on the intricate machinery. The main laboratory was a magnificent complex, a testament to the ambition of a man consumed by his obsession.
In the center of the room, a massive, cylindrical tank filled with a swirling, luminescent liquid held a partially submerged humanoid figure.
It was a chilling sight, a grotesque parody of human life."This," Mr. Hamilton announced, his voice dripping with pride,
"is the heart of the Green Garden Laboratory, the birthplace of the Alphas."My gaze swept across the room, landing on a series of glass tanks, each containing a humanoid figure, a perfect replica of a human being.
Their limbs and torsos were connected to a web of wires and tubes, their faces eerily still.
Each chamber was illuminated by a soft, blue light, casting an eerie glow on the figures within.
Each chamber had a label, a name, a percentage."2013-Zatariel Wov- Alpha Candidate," I read the label attached to a tank containing a young man with a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eye.
"This is Zatariel's clone," Mr. Hamilton said, his voice laced with a venomous glee.
"Make sure to get rid of that arrogant kid so we can replace him. " He glanced at the clone, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light."A clone? " I scoffed, a smirk playing on my lips.
"A mere imitation. It won't be able to make me feel less ever again. Miexha will go back to me and everything will go according to plan."
My mind raced, a torrent of thoughts and plans swirling in my head.
Mr. Hamilton's obsession with cloning was a dangerous one.
He was blurring the lines between human and machine, creating a new breed of beings that were both fascinating and terrifying. But I was determined to use his creations to my advantage, to achieve my own goals."Let's see what you're made of," I said, my eyes fixated on the clone. "Zatariel's memories, his personality, all trapped in that shell. I'm going to use him to get what I want."
I walked towards the tank, my fingers tracing the cool glass. The clone's eyes flickered open, a vacant stare that held no recognition. But I knew that beneath that vacant gaze, there was a spark of life, a potential that I could exploit.
"You're going to be my servant, Zatariel," I whispered, a cold smile spreading across my face.
"And I'm going to make sure you serve me well."I turned to Mr. Hamilton, my gaze hardened.
They were planning to make my sister Ofreigha a mother for the clones.
She was still young, barely a woman, and I wouldn't allow it."Mr. Hamilton, about my sister, she's still young," I said, my voice laced with a warning.
He looked at me, his eyes gleaming with a chilling amusement.
"We need young ones to become the perfect mothers, and she's the perfect candidate."I clenched my fist, my anger rising.
"No," I said, my voice was low and dangerous.
"She's not a breeding machine.""Hmm, Miexha is also a candidate," he said, his voice a smooth, silken whisper.
"We can choose her over your sister. What do you think?"No.
Not Miexha.
"Not Miexha! We're getting married this summer, please," I pleaded, my voice strained.
He chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound that sent shivers down my spine.
He tapped my shoulder, his touch a chilling reminder of his power."Ofreigha it is," he said, his voice final.
My heart sank.
My sister.
She was the only family I had, our parents are trash. But I wouldn't give up.
I would find a way to protect my sister, even if it meant defying Mr. Hamilton. The Green Garden Laboratory was a breeding ground for power, and I was determined to claim it as my own.
The future was mine for the taking, and I wouldn't let anything stand in my way.I turned away from Mr. Hamilton, my mind racing.
I needed a plan.
A plan to save my sister and to claim my rightful place in this world.
