"I assume you disappeared last night to hand in the DNA sample" that was the first thing he was greeted with as he sat down opposite her for breakfast. With ruffled hair and sleep filled eyes, her narrowed glare did wonders for him.

"Were you looking for me?" he smiled cheekily, grabbing the chopsticks between his fingers and plucking the food from her plate. She whined in protest but didn't comment.

"You wish" she muttered before leaning forward, over the table. He raised his brow at the way her eyes darted to the guests around them. "You really think the old man could be your dad?"

Hae-jo shrugged. " Who knows?"

Hee-won eyed him wearily before pursing her lips in sympathy. " You wish he is" she hummed and his gaze trailed out the window. "He's a sweet old man, you'd be lucky." She then muttered lowly " Don't know what happened to you then"

He didn't bother to hide his chuckle at her snide comment. He found her commentary endearing  And in all honesty, he had missed it all. Her light jokes, her cynic humour, her quips and how she was the only one capable of making his heart race. He missed her.

You're just a selfish boy with abandonment and daddy issues.

And you're just a broken girl who cannot commit to anything or anyone because she's a coward.

He sighed before turning back to her.

"The results should arrive by noon" he said, and she nodded glancing down at her plate.

"What if he isn't the one?" she asked and he kissed his teeth, his chopsticks lowering to the table.

"Then we move on to the next one" he brushed off.
