" You never called"
Hee-won sighed, jaw ticking as her eyes trailed from her sticky dough covered hands to glance at Bong-suk.
The two were stood idly in her kitchen, shoulder to shoulder as they fell back into their rhythm of baking cookies like they usually did on girls day. Bong-suk would take them shopping in the morning, splurging until their arms ached and they wore their bags like bracelets till their shoulders, then they'd come home, bake a batch of cookies, keeping a few aside because He-jo would kill her otherwise, then they would dress down into their nightwear, curl on the couch with a glass of wine and cry over a sappy romance movie. However, it had come to an end when Hae-jo and her split. Breaking her ties with Kkari and Bong-suk had proved to be more difficult than she had anticipated.
"You didn't either" Hee-won rebutted. "Can you pass the flo-" it was already in her hand before she could finish her sentence.
" I didn't think I was welcomed " Hee-won muttered as she sprinkled the flour onto the counter. Bong-suk wiped her hands with a towel before turning to the woman.
"Cupcake" a nickname she had given to her after the day they met. " You would've always been welcome. You're family. "
" I know, it was just hard" Hee-won smiled sadly as Bong-suk sighed, lightly running her hand down her hair.
" Well, I hope you stay this time. For good" Bong-suk said as she took the tray from Hee-won and placed it in the oven. "I missed you"
Hee-won 's smile widened genuinely. "I missed you too Bong-suk"
