"Hae-jo!"

"Hae-jo seriously where are you!"

Hee-won's cries bounced back in her ears, echoing like cymbals that rung empty and loud. She cursed at the silence, shaking out her leg which had caught in some reeds. She secured her bag to her chest, had dusted her socks which had begun dirtying and shoes. She grabbed her damp jacket and decided Hae-jo had been gone for far longer than he should've after saying he needed to use the restroom- which consisted of a bush over the hill.

But he had been gone for as long as the tide to settle and the embers of their fire to dwindle and she had begun to worry.

"You know what's funny" she giggled stupidly as she stripped the flesh from the fishes bones, blowing on her fingers that burned at her tips.

"What?" he egged, his head lifting cutely. Their dripping clothes were hanging over a makeshift line that rested near their small fire. With legs crossed in the sand, they had skewered the fish onto sticks and despite some charred pieces it was honestly way better than starving.

" The fact we're stuck on a deserted island together" she said, smiling. " You and I are going to die here. Alone. Because no one would come for us"

He found himself laughing too.

"It's sad isn't it" Hae-jo grinned. " It's so fcked"

"Yeah" Hee-won nodded with her own smile. " But hey, maybe those thugs will hunt you down and find us" she teased and he grinned and turned to the open waters.
