The moon was high in the sky, soft white lights from the nearby streetlamps filtered in through the windows of their little makeshift sleeping quarters. Drunken snores filled the rather quiet night as the birds fell silent and leaves gently swayed to the hum of the wind. But the peaceful serene that fell over them didn't last long.

Hee-won woke to a clatter and a thud.

Slapping her hands against her cheeks, eyes blinking in a daze, one eye still screwed shut, trying to rouse her out of her stupor. She had drunk a little too much the previous night and the pounding in her head was enough indication of her poor choices.

She was about to go back to sleep when silence followed but Hee-won flinched when another loud thud jolted her awake. With her eyes adjusting to the dimly lit room she barley noticed a figure stumbling out the door until it shut behind him. Blinking rapidly, she slowly leaned over Dae-hyun and Ji-woo's sleeping bodies, the two cuddled together on the floor while Kkari slept, mouth opened, on the chair, his legs propped on the table while Bong-suk had taken the sofa,

As soundlessly as she could, she made her way into the chilly night, glanced left and right before loud honking caught her attention. Her head whipped to the traffic light where Hae-jo was stumbling around, his eyes coated in a thin hazy sheen as he staggered into the middle of the road.

"Hae-jo!" she yelled, sobering up before chasing after him. She managed to grab onto him just as he hunched over, his legs weakening. She pulled him to the side of the road, out of danger but his eyes were roaming everywhere but her. She followed his gaze, calling to him softly until his frantic eyes finally settled on her worried face. For a split second, it seemed Hae-jo didn't recognise her at all.
