the morning light peeked through the curtains as jungwon's alarm clock rang. he slowly opened his eyes, only to be met with a spinning world.

oh no.

a heavy wave of nausea washed over him as his head throbbed with a dull ache, each heartbeat echoing in his ears.

he cautiously sat up, but the movement sent his room into a dizzying whirl. a cold sweat broke out all throughout his back.

he shut his eyes and took a deep breath, pushing the sickly feeling away. he forced himself to stand up and get ready for the day, hoping that everything would somehow get better.

he grabbed the bottle of pills on his desk, hoping that it would help, but didn't.

as the clock moved forward, he hurriedly wobbled out of his room, coincidentally meeting his brother at the same time.

"morning jungwon" jake greeted with a smile.

however, it immediately dropped as he sensed something was wrong with his brother.

"are you okay?" he asked, examining jungwons actions.

"im fine" jungwon said, rubbing his eyes and quickly moving forward, heading down the stairs. "i'm just a little tired."

they both knew he wasn't telling the truth though.

"are you sure?" jake questioned, not convinced. "i know you have a habit of lying to not burden us"

"i'm fine. really." jungwon confirmed.

it was obvious he wasn't. he was practically gripping onto the banister for dear life.

"no you're not, come on." jake said, wrapping his arm around his brother's torso, supporting his weight.

jungwon almost immediately collapsed into his arms, barely able to keep himself from losing all the energy in his body.

"mom, we have a problem!"

-

he couldn't exactly make sense of what was going on, but he suddenly appeared on his bed again. his heart was beating too quickly, dominating over every other sound.

the only thing he could make out was his mother's presence.

"mom?" he mumbled, trying to lift his head up.

it immediately fell though. he was too weak to hold his own weight.

"stay in bed honey," she said, placing her palm on his blazing hot forehead. "you're not going to school today."

he wanted to object, he wanted to reply, but couldn't. this was by far the worst he felt besides when it first started.

"i'll have to talk to doctor jay today," she added. "hopefully he can increase your medication"

he could hear her voice slightly shaking, but passed out before he could interpret anything else.
