Wedding Time

*Katniss Pov*

I walk back and forth in the tent being much more nervous than before. I read my vow over and over again to make sure its perfect. 

I know mine will not be even close to as good as Peeta because he so good with words. He can make the worst situation the happiest possible with any of his speeches.

Haymitch walks in the tent and see's me pacing around the room. 

Sweetheart you ready? He asks. 

Well kinda. I say not sure of myself. 

I am just so nervous Haymitch, I don't really know why though. 

It is a big commitment it makes sense to be nervous, and don't worry I am sure that boy is just as nervous as you. He says. 

What if I trip Haymitch. I say. 

You wont trip sweetheart, I will be there keeping you steady the whole time. He says. 

Thank you Haymitch. I say giving him a hug. 

Effie tells us she is ready for me and we walk out of the tent. It is a beautiful venue with the sunset and beach in the background. 

I hold on to Haymitch's arm so tight as I wake down the aisle as everyone stares at me. 

Peeta and I look at each other and he smiles making me a lot less nervous and before I know Haymitch hands me off to him. 

I grab his hands and the officiant smiles. 

Ladies and gentlemen we have gathered here today to witness the marriage of Peeta Mellark, and Katniss Everdeen. 

It is time to say our vows. The officiant says. 

Peeta Mellark you are first. He says. 

"Katniss I cannot even express how happy I am to be here with you today. I have loved everything about you since I was 5 years old. I loved how you were strong, compassionate, independent, and absolutely stunning. 

I told my dad I liked you once and he said how he liked your mother, but she ran off with a coal miner because when he sang the birds went silent. 

I remember the time when you were in a red dress with your hair in two braids, and the teacher asked who knows the valley song. Your hand shot straight up. 

When you sang the birds did indeed fall silent just like your fathers voice. I never talked to you because I was so nervous, I would talk to my friends all the time of how beautiful and amazing you are. 

When I was reaped for the first hunger games with you I was terrified not only because I knew I was going to die, but also this was the first time my long time crush would ever notice me. 

We did end up surviving, and I can't help to feel grateful that we were together in the games because without it I would never be here today. 

I love everything about you, and I could go on and on about how amazing you are but i'll leave it at that."

I love you Katniss Everdeen. He says. 

A small tear slips out of my eye. I knew his vow would be good, but that was even better than I thought. 

Peeta I know my vow will not be nearly as good as yours, but here it goes.

"The first time I noticed you was not reaping, it was when you threw me that piece of bread. Without it me and my family would have all died. I thought about that constantly and how I owed you something in return. 

When we were reaped for the games I did not want to have to kill you because I still remember how I owed you. 

When we did the trick with the berries we had to act madly in love with each other. Haymitch said it would be easy for you because you already loved me, but I now realize I loved you too even if I did not know it. 

I was going to do anything to keep you alive in the second games, and when we were separated I felt my whole life had been crushed.  

When I woke up from my nightmares I would long for how you comforted me on the train or in the capital. When they rescued you I was relieved and couldnt wait to see you. 

Then they told me you were hijacked I thought I had lost my boy with the bread forever. Losing you was like losing the other half of me. When I returned home I lost myself and no longer wanted to be living. 

When you returned I slowly found myself and you reminded me good things take time. You were right because getting here today took time. 

"I love you Peeta Mellark and I have no regrets at all" 

Everyone claps and he smiles at me. 

Peeta Mellark do you take Katniss Everdeen as your wife and promise to love and care for her as long as you may live? 

Yes, I do. He says. 

Katniss Everdeen do you take Peeta Mellark as your husband and promise to love and care for him as long as you may live? 

Yes, I do. I say. 

You may now kiss the bride. 

Peeta presses his lips to mine and we make it short because we know there are other people watching.

We arrive at the after party and it is time for cake. They wheel out a big cake that Peeta made himself. 

We feed each other a piece of vanilla cake with thick butter cream in the middle. 

Katniss come on lets do some shots! Johanna yells to me. 

Fine. I say.

I go to her at the bar and we get a very strong shot and take it down.

About 3 hours later the party ends and we all decide to head back to our room for the night because we are all drunk and tired.  

I head straight to bed and fall asleep on Peeta's chest and I am so happy to oficially be his wife.
