I woke to the sound of my alarm blaring, meaning sleep in the warmth of my bed was over, and it was now time to get ready for school.I stretched before grabbing my phone, checking for any calls or texts from my parents, but there was nothing. My parents were hardly ever home, maybe 2-3 times a month if I was lucky. I guess that's what happens when both of your parents are traveliing surgeons.
I stepped out of bed, my bare feet walking across the cold floor as I made my way to the bathroom. I turned on the shower to my desired warmth before peeling the clothes off my body.
I stepped in, my body shuttering from the sudden feeling of warm water crashing against my skin. I soaked my hair, and began my shower routine. I lathered my hair in shampoo and conditioner before rinsing, and grabbed the vanilla body wash lathering it on my skin.
After I stepped out of the shower I tightly tucked a towel around my body before making my way to my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. I slid on a pair of black laced panties before pairing it with a matching bra.
After looking at my options, I eventually settled on a black dress that snuggly fit my body and reached just above my ankles, pairing it with a denim jacket and black sandles.
I sat down at my vanity deciding what to do with my hair. I opted on soft curls, I blow dried my long dark brown hair while my curling iron heated up. Once I was done I gently brushed the tight curls with a comb to relax them a bit and then added syrum and spray to my hair.
I looked up at my mirror, looking into my blue eyes. I began to do my makeup which consisted of concealor, blush, mascara, and a bit of lipgloss.
I grabbed my bag off the floor and my phone off the nightstand and made my way downstairs. I was met with the dim living room, the only light coming in from the windows. I staired into the emptiness, emagening the smell of coffee bruing and my parents sitting on the couch watching the morning news, before getting ready for their day.
I quickly snapped out of it when I heard a notification pop up on my phone. I glanced at my phone seeing a message from my besfriend Landreigh notifying me that she was here to pick me up.
I quickly walked into the kitchen grabbing a banana off the counter before I made my way out the front door, locking it behind me. I walked around to the passenger door of the car, getting in and shutting the door as I got in.
"Hey girl! Looking cute as always." Landreigh said starting the car and pulling out of my driveway. I gave her a soft smile as I reached for my seatbelt.
Before I knew it we had pulled into the parking lot, looking at the sighn that read "St. George High School". I rolled my eyes dreading the long day ahead of me, but thankful that it was Friday.
As Landreigh parked the car we both stepped out and headed to the entrance of the school. " Thank you for the ride by the way, I forgot to tell you" I said as we walked through the doors leading us into the school. "Oh don't worry about it I dont mind, seriously."
I usually walk to school but today was chillier then most.
I felt the gaze of everyones eyes on us as we walked over to our group of friends. We were considered the "popular girls' out of the school so this was normal, but I didn't feel any different than any other person at this school.
Our friend group consisted of Me, Landreigh, Brooklynn, Cassadie, and Kaylee. "Omg, Adalyn your outfit today is gorgeous! Just like every other day of course!" Cassadie screeched as we walked towards her and the other girls.
"Thank you." I said giving her a small hug.
The bell rang, telling us we had 5 minutes to get to class before we were counted tardy. I waved to the girls as I walked away from them going towards my first class of the day. Math, I hated this subject but was very good at it. I hated that I had it first thing in the morning.
As I walked in the classroom, I looked up to a familiar face, Mrs. Teddy. I said hello before moving to my desk. I sat down looking over at the boy who sat besides me. He was on the football team, his name is justin and he would always try to talk to me.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Justin leaned up in his chair to talk to me. "I was just going to ask if you were going to Kenneth's party tommorow night" he said with a smirk spread across his face.
"Uhm probably not, I didn't even know about it till you just said something."
I flipped back around in my chair facing towards the front of the class. "Well you should definitely come, you'll have fun and maybe you and me can you know..talk." I immediately flipped back around facing him again just as Mrs. Teddy started talking about what we were going to be doing that day.
"That will be a no for me." I said looking into his green eyes and dirty blond hair. "I promise you, it'll be worth you while." he said another smirk growing on his face.
Before I could say anything I was interrupted by Mrs. Teddy loudly clearing her throat behind me. "Ms. Jacob's, Mr. Stewart, am i boring you?" she asked looking angrily at us.
"No, sorry." I said as I looked straght ahead to the front of the class. She then turned around and walked back towards the front. She then began speaking again. "Now back to what I was talking about, we will be having a test today."
I put my hand onto my forehead. I hated tests even though I confidently knew I could pass it. Mrs. Teddy began walking around handing out the test sheets as I reached to grab a pencil out of my bag.
After about 15 minutes I finally finished and walked up to Mrs. Teddy, handing her my test before going back to my desk. I sat and waited for the bell to ring dismissing me to go to my next class.
When the bell finally rang I got up and started heading to the door before Mrs. Teddy stopped me, calling my name. I turned to face her as she walked over to me. "Next time you don't pay attention in my class, there will be consequences." she sternly said walking back to her desk.
"Yes mam, I understand." I then walked out of her class and headed to my next classes.
