Chapter 24

I had now been waiting in the room for about 3 hours. There was still nothing from doctors, and the nurses at the front desk wouldnt update me on anything and kept directing me to sit back down.

I heard a door open and when I looked up Jared was walking through the doors, but he wasn't alone. There was an older man with him. He was tall dressed in a black suit and maybe in his mid 50's. He had salt and pepper hair and a scar going acrossed his cheek. It looked old, but like it had caused him a lot of pain at the time he got it.

His hair was slicked back with tons of product. People stared with wide eyes as he entered. When Jared entered he looked around the room before his eyes landed on mine. Him and the man approached me and Jared sat down in a seat next to me and the man on the other side of him.

"Is there anything on him yet?" He asked.

I shook my head. "He's been in surgery for about 3 hours now, no one has come out or told me anything yet."

"Dammit" the man on the other side of Jared said. I glanced over at him confused. Jared lookedback in forth between us.

"Yall must have not met yet." Jared said. "No, I dont know who he is."

The tall man stood up and extended his hand to me. "Hello Im Marco, Im Nathan's uncle." I looked up at him. I could kind of see a resemblance between the two now. I shook his hand. "Im Adelyn, Nathan's girlfr-"

He cut me off. "ahh yes the famous Adelyn. Your the girlfriend. Nathan has said lots of great things about you." I nodded and gave him a shy smile.

"Yep, that woud be me. It's a pleasure to meet you sir."

"The pleasures all mine I wandered when I would finally get to meet you, I just never thought it would be under these circumstances. And please call me Marco."

"Me either, but it's good to finally meet you, Marco."

"He made a good pick, you sure are a pretty little thing."

"Uh, thank you.."

He nodded and sat back down in the seat next to Jared. We were all silent for a moment before Jared began speaking."Adelyn, you should go home and shower, maybe get some rest." I looked up at him. "No I'm fine I want to wait here."

"No really you should, change into some comforatble clothes, and shower your covered in blood." I looked down and realized I was still in my bakini and thin white cover up, wich was now covered in dark red. I realized then that's why I was getting so many weird looks from people and a lot of the men were giving me creepy looks.

I wrapped the cover up tighter to myslef trying to hide any exposed skin on my upper body.  "Go, i'll call you if anything happens."
"Okay, Thank you Jared." He gave me a nod and with that I got up and slowly walked out of the entrance of the hospital.

When I stepped outside I was hit with the cool midnight air. I had no idea what time it was since I didnt have my phone but I figured it was probably around 2-3 in the morning.

I waved down a taxi and gave the man driving Nathan's address. after about 10 minutes he pulled up to the gated entrance of Nathan's house. I relaized I didnt have any money on me as I went to get out. I waved over Andrew, who was one of the guards standing at the gate.

He was a really nice man in his early 30's. He barely talked but when he did he was fun to talk to sometimes, I would secretly have conversations with him even though Nathan didnt like it.

"Andrew can I borrow $10 I dont have my stuff on me." He nodded and pulled a $10 bill out of his wallet and handed it to the driver. "Thank you, i'll pay you back once I get inside."
