Nathan's POV
I can hear Adelyn screaming. My baby, screaming for me. I have a hole in my abdomen. I was shot by one of the attackers on our birthday. My heart hurts hearing her scream. I'm trying to stay awake like shes telling me. I can feel her gently smacking the side of my face trying to keep me awake.
I see tears dropping off her face. Her hands holding on to me, are covered in blood. I see her frantically looking around screaming, but I cant hear her. That's all I remember before it all goes black.
I wake up in a black room, but its not exactly a room. There's no walls, no doors, no windows. The blackness juts goes on and on for what looks like miles. I'm looking around in the black area. I can see myself perfectly, as if there is a light being projected on me.
Mirrors pop up around the room, and there all playing memories. There's some where I'm hanging out with Jared, and some with Adelyn. I notice these are some of my favorite memories from the past couple of months.
There's one that stands out to me off in the distance. I move towards it. As I'm looking closer at it I relize it is oddly familiar, like a moment I just had but don't remember.
I'm laying on the ground. There's blood everywhere. My sweet Addi is sitting there crying shaking me. She begins performing CPR on me. She's yelling telling me to wake up. Jared comes up and to her but she doesn't respond to him. He's talking to her but shes not even agnologing him.
I turn away from the mirror, not wanting to see my baby cry anymore. It takes me a moment to realize for a moment. I must have died.
I'm standing in the middle of the darkness glancing at all the mirrors playing my memories. A big space opens up. Instead of walking to it I stay planted in the spot I'm standing in. I stare at the open space. It's beautiful.
It's a beach. The sunset is showing hues of pink, red, and orange. The gentle waves are hitting the tan sand. There's people walking on the beach along the water. One woman, dressed in a white flowy dress that falls all the way to her ankles. Her hair is down in soft waves, its dark brown and she has a small white bow in the back of her hair.
She's walking with a man, dressed in white pants, and a white button up shirt. His black hair sways in the wind. He's holding hands with the woman. Their laughing and walking, enjoying the moment. The stop and turn. It looks like their looking right at me. They wave and I take a step forward to get a better look at their faces. They seem really familiar.
My parents. A little boy runs up to them. He has the same black hair as the man, and grey eyes, matching the woman's. It takes awhile of studying before I realize its supposed to be me. I look maybe 6 in this moment. I'm now walking with my parents, on each side of me holding my hands as I walk in the middle of them.
I feel a wetness down my cheeks as a take slow small steps towards the open area. Something, no someone begins pulling me back.I keep trying to move towards the beach, something attracts me to it. I want to go into it.
My steps get harder and harder to take as I move towards it. I glanced back only for a moment to see my love. She's crying. Shes standing in the darkness. She's looking out into the open. Not looking at me, or anything. She's just standing there.
I look back at the couple walking with the boy on the beach. They're walking away, fading off into the distance. I look back to where Adelyn was standing. Her figure starts to fade away. I watch until all of her is gone. When I look back at the beach, the couple is gone, and so is the sunset, now its just a completely dark beach.
