I watched Nathan holding the gun. He was holding it up in whatever direction the noises were coming from.
I sat in the seat frozen unable to move. Without noticing, Nathan ran over to me and slammed the door shut, closing me into the car.
"Duck your head down!" He yelled. I obeyed emmidiatly. I croutched down in the seat, bringing my chest to my knees and my hands over my head.
I could still hear the loud shots, echoing through the car. No matter how hard I tried to cover my ears, they could still be heard. My body trembled as I squeezed myself tighter. What the hell was going on?
It was me and Nathan's birthday, we were suppost to be having fun hanging out with our friends, drinking, dancing, and enjoying the night, but within minutes all that changed.
I felt and heard bullets as they bounced off my car. Is this thing bulletproof? What the fuck...
As they rang off of my car I could hear the tinging off the surface. A bullet hit my passenger window causing it to slightly crack. I would've thought that it would instantly broke but Nathan must have done something to this car to make it almost fully resist the bullets.
I could hear Nathan and Jared shouting and people screaming. I wanted to bring my head up to see what was happening, but something in my gut told me it would be a bad idea.
Sticking to my gut I kept my head down, no matter how badly I wanted to look up. As I listened to the commotion, I faintly heard a loud grunt followed by a painful yelp. I knew the voice like no other. It was Nathan's.
Without thinking I moved my head up. Something was telling me that whatever it was, it was bad. I peeked my head up just the tiniest bit to see out of the window. I looked around and could see Jared yelling while shooting at God knows who. I could see people running through the rain of bullets.
What cought my eye was the person laying on the ground clutching onto the side of their stomach. As I looked at the person on the ground, my heart instantly started beating at a quick pace, as if I was running a marathon.
The person laying on the ground was Nathan. Without hesitation I jumped out of the car and ran to Nathan. I didn't care about the people screaming around me or the hail of bullets flying my way. All I cared about was Nathan and making sure he wasn't dead.
I ran to his side and fell to my knees beside him. I ignored the burning pain that seared through my knees as they collided with the concrete. I frantically looked over Nathan's body. My eyes landed on his white shirt that was now soaked in blood.
There was blood slowly pooling out beneath him, staining the driveway. I locked eyes with Nathan. His bright grey eyes were now dark and full of fear. He looked like he was trying not to panick but I could see it all over his face.
His skin was pale and sweat glimmered all over his face. "Nathan your gonna be okay baby, just breath." I glanced back down and watched as his hand clutched his stomach. It was covered in his blood and the blood was leaking through his fingers.
He shook his head. "Get..Your ass back in that car right now." His voice came out shaky, more of a whisper. I could hear him wheezing as he tried to breath.
I shook my head at him, signalling that I wasn't leaving his side. "Adelyn, If you don't get back in that car right now...I swear to-" I quickly cut him off. "No Nathan! I'm not leaving you out here in this!" I screamed.
"Addi..please" He begged. No matter how much he begged or how much pain he was in I wasn't leaving his side. He needed to get that through his thick skull.
I held his free hand. I watched him as he watched me. Tears that had formed in my eyes were now flowing down my face. I watched as a single tear rolled down the side of Nathan's cheek. "Nathan your gonna be okay just stay away, okay?"
