I had only gotten 10 minutes of sleep when my phone started blaring. I slowly sat up and reached over to my nightstand and grabbed my phone and pressed stop on the alarm. It was 6:00 am. I stared at my phone still reading the messages I have yet to answer.
Landreigh: Why wont you answer the phone?
Cassadie: What happened??
Cassadie: Im so confused right now. You left the party looking like shit and wont talk to anyone.
I placed my phone back on the nightstand and rolled back over in bed. There was no way I was going to school. I couldn't face anyone.. especially Justin. I couldn't stand seeing him in the halls or sitting behind me in math. Just the though of his name makes me want to throw up.
I layed in bed and cried. I dont know for how long but when I finally stopped the sun was shining through my curtains. I got out of bed and headed downstairs towards the kitchen, carefully and slowly though as my leg was still in pain. I reached for the medicine cuboard and grabbed the bottle of pain killers.
I shoved 3 in my mouth and swallowed them with a glass of water. My stomach grumbled, reminding me I haven't eaten. I opened the fridge looking for anything I might want to eat, but nothing looked good. I grabbed a banana off the counter and made my way into the living room.
I sat down on the couch and wrapped a blanket around me. I didn't feel like watching TV so I just sat in silence in the living room. As I staired at the empty living room and it only reminded me that there was no one else here, the comfort of my parents. No one was here in this cold dark house.
I don't know how long I had been sitting on the couch for before I decided to get up and walk back up to my room, discarding the banana peel in the trash as I went.
When I made it back to my room I checked my phone again. More messages from my friends rolled in.
Brooklyn: Girl where are you?
Kaylee: Why aren't you at school?
Landreigh: Were worried about you Adelyn. Cassadie told me about the party.
Great. I just wanted to be reminded about the party and what my friends didnt know happened that night. I checked the time, 12:44 pm. The girls were having lunch right now and I'm sitting in my room.
I walked over and sat at my vanity. I staired at myself in the mirror. Dark circles formed under my eyes and the bruises on me were dark with hints of yellow, purple, and blue. My hair looked like a rats nest and the scratches on me had small scabs growing over them. I quickly got up after I was tired of looking at my damaged body.
I crept into thee bathroom and turned the bath on. A nice bath might help me relax.
I undressed myself and brushed my knotted hair out and put it into a messy bun untop of my head. As I made my way to the bath I slowly stepped in, wincing slightly at the hot water burning my skin slightly.
I sat all the way down in the tub and leaned back against the back of the tub. I added some bubbled and mixed the water around to make the bath soapy. I used my hands and scooped the bubbles around, letting the softness flow over my hands.
After I had spent nearly 2 hours in the bath I decided to get out. As I wrapped a towel around myself I looked at my hands. They were wrinkly from how long they had been in the water, my hands made me look like an old lady.
I walked to my closet and grabbed a pair of underwear and bra with a black sweatpants and hoodie set. I threw them on and headed back downstairs. I walked out the front door and went over to a chair that sat on my front porch.
