POV Suki

I walk on the indoor balcony where I have a stunning view of the entire reception room

I almost feel tears in my eyes, it's another accomplishment to add on my list , on the company's list

We succeeded the wedding ceremony in the Hamptons and I feel so emotional, just by watching everyone dancing in the room

I can't believe that I can do transformations like that, I'm really a fairy

" Congratulations boss, you did it once again "

I turn around to find Alessio coming towards with two champagne flutes and a proud smile on his face

He's been helping out so much during the entire week we spent here, even though he doesn't do weddings

And the heavenly setting of the Hamptons brought us closer together during these final days, and it became a little difficult to hide it and remain discreet around our colleagues

But I think at the end of the day, I don't actually care

We're grown adults and we can hook up if we want

And I really want to get close to him too, so

I take the flute from his hand and we raise a toast

" Cheers!!! "

I smile at him before I take my first sip

" Thank you for your support this week, I wouldn't make it out alive without you " I say to him, grateful

" Always " he responds softly

We look at each other for a moment in silence

" Maybe we should go home " I tell him

He laughs softly

" There are so many meanings to that sentence Miss Lee, I'm not sure which one you're referring to "

I let out a soft laugh

" I mean, the day was long enough and I can't even feel my feet anymore in these stilettos and I'm starving some chicken shawarma and just the comfort of my pyjama, maybe you could join and we'll...you know, chill "

" Sounds good " he says as he gives me his arm

" Do you think they'll notice our absence ? " I ask as we walk away together

" Do you think I'd actually care about them noticing? "

I laugh , amused

During our stay in the Hamptons, the Vanderbilt's family gave us our private residence inside the family villa

it's like a small village and we each have a white wooden house with a red brick roof, the houses are lined up opposite each other and are located in the middle of an oleander garden, we were all like neighbors and we loved pretending to be neighbors throughout the stay, and sometimes we find ourselves under the veranda of one of the houses late in the evening after work to work again or play cards, have dinner and have a good time, this stay will be unforgettable

We walk together towards the oleander garden to join our cottage and I take a deep breath as I feel the breeze caressing my face

" I'll miss it here " I confide " the Hamptons was magical "

" I agree too, I'll miss being your neighbor " Alessio responds

I laugh

" I'll miss waking up and seeing you already up, sitting on the porch with your hot coffee in your hand " I retort
