I follow the housemaid that guides me to the botanical garden

I really love this mansion and the botanical garden is definitely one of my favorites spot here

Despite the beautiful view and the warm welcome, I'm still not at peace

Why didn't I think about the possibility of seeing him here, knowing that he is Bellatia's husband childhood friend

I didn't expect to see him at all

I still managed to keep my cool when I saw him, sending mental thanks to my etiquette coach for that

I'm trying not to think about how fine he is

I'm really really trying not to think about him just standing here looking like some kind of piece of art from renaissance, but a modern version of it with the same precision for the details

I can't even believe he was the one I saw last night at the bar

So lonely and...

Heat spreads over my cheeks when the memory of his light touch on my skin grazes my mind, the gentle caress of his fingertips...

I close my eyes and scold myself for that absurd thought

Didn't I cry enough for today?

Didn't I already make the resolutions to lock this man in the past where he belongs?

Why only seeing him already giving me wild thoughts ?

As soon as I reach the garden, Kailah is the first one I notice

She immediately runs into my arms as she keeps her glass of champagne in one hand

" Oh my goodness, you are stunning!! And this color was literally made for you " she compliments me as she twirls me to check me out

I blush a little as I smile at her

Kailah is one of my closest friends, we met years ago randomly at a burritos restaurant

She just came back in Los Angeles with a dream of having an equestrian club and I was still managing my classes and a part time job with the dream of becoming an event planner

We were both young and lost and we immediately became each other's support

Now...look at us

I think if we glance at the past we will see how far we've come

Later, she introduced me to Bellatia and that's how we became a trio of friends

" And look at you ma'am, I have to narrow my eyes not to be blinded by your beauty " I compliment her back

She laughs as she slides her arm under mine

" Oh shut up, I didn't know you would be here this early, I thought you would've come after work with your sexy colleague " she says with a grin

One thing about Kailah is that she is probably Alessio's biggest supporter

I can't count how many times she would remind me of that sexy colleague everytime she finds the opportunity to

" I didn't go to work today " I reply simply, not knowing how to insert the rest of the informations she wants in the same sentence

" Suki Lee not going to work? Did I miss something? "  She asks, flipping her bob in the process

Kailah never let her hair grow longer than chin length

Sometimes she makes it even shorter

It's like when someone finds the right haircut and just never tries anything else
