chapter twenty three

POV Suki

I open my eyes slowly as my phone chirps on the nightstand

I've been sleeping for the entire day since I came back last night from the Hamptons

I'm so jet lagged that I almost forgot that I was supposed to meet my friends this evening

I told them about me and Alessio and they insisted to meet so we can spill the tea better

Thankfully I put on five alarms to wake me up cause I was capable of sleeping longer

I get up, take a shower and get dressed

I wear simply a blue jeans, a white bandeau top and a dark mauve cardigan sweater

I use a curler to make some wave in my hair, then put on some makeup before I leave the apartment

I don't even remember the last time I saw my two closest friends, I'm so excited to see them this evening

I get out the Uber a few building away from the actual restaurant where we're meeting just so I can walk a little bit

I've been sleeping all day so I kinda still feel a bit groggy, a walk will help me to wake up completely

When I arrive, Bellatia was the one who arrived first and she brought her baby with her

he is lying in a rocking chair and he makes cute little noises while moving his little feet and arms, my heart swells with joy

" Oh my gosh, you brought my baby " I say with excitement as I take a seat

Bellatia raises her head to look at me, she is wearing a white dress tonight and her hair is flowing on her back

The way she looks so elegant while I look more casual, I bet I never saw Bella wearing jeans in my entire life

" You're late " she says with a disappointed pout

" Not as late as Kailah " I say as I saw this one passing the entrance door in a hurry

Oh I'm so happy seeing them

" I'm late " says Kailah as she sits down

" We've noticed " Bella retorts

Kailah chuckles softly as she grabs the menu already

" How was your trip to the Hamptons, so you're back with a man, haaa, I knew it, I knew you two wouldn't be able to resist it "

She turns to Bella with a grin

" You owe me three thousand dollars " she adds

Bella sighs as she shakes her head

" I'll send it to your account "

" What? What is all that about? "

" Last year we made a bet, I bet you would go out with Alessio and she bet otherwise, guess who won ?"

I shake my head at the childishness of the situation

" You're hopeless " I say

" So, tell us, how it was ? How did all that happen " says Kailah

" Well...you remember when you brutally told me that Jimin just wanted to play with me and stuff like that?
I listened to you and cut him off, we naturally get closer with Alessio and yeah...it happened "

" You don't seem very excited " says Bellatia as she takes a sip from her mocktail

" I am, why wouldn't I ? " I say

Now them both are staring at me

" Did you get closer to Alessio just to forget about this Jimin guy or you get closer to him cause you wanted to ? " Asks Bellatia with a frown
