It was nearly impossible for Ron to wipe the grin off his face as he made his way back to the gryffindor common room. No matter how much he had tried, it was no use since she would always pop back up in his mind and make him smile again.
But honestly, he couldn't care less.
For once since the war he felt happy. She made him happy.
Students gave him weird looks and shared whispers as he passed through the hall in his messy hair and yesterday's clothes, save for the shirt Parkinson had thrown at him. Walk of fucking shame, right? But there really was no shame behind it, in fact, he wanted to scream out to the entirety of Hogwarts that she was finally his.
Although after their little performance during the party last night he assumed most of Hogwarts already knew anyway.
Ron couldn't help but release a sigh as he neared the common room, slightly hesitating before the portrait. What would his housemates think? Surely they would disapprove. He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't notice the Fat Lady giving him an interested look "Where have you been, boy?"
Ron nearly jumped out of his skin. Startled, he glanced up at her with slightly wide eyes "Why does that matter to you?"
She scowled, crossing her arms and bringing one hand up to examine her nails "Curious, that's all. Seeing as there is a bloody riot about you in there, is all"
He froze "Riot? What do you mean?"
She smirked and gestured with her head inside "Well, why don't you take a look and see for yourself?"
Ron huffed at her as the portrait opened, scowling at her smug giggles. He never liked the fat lady.
His heartbeat thumped faster as he stepped inside, already hearing loud voices and heated arguments. He could distinctly hear Seamus' voice "There is no other explanation. Ron would never go for her willingly, the Malfoys must have put some love potion in his drink or something?"
Nothing could have stopped the snort coming out of his mouth and he instantly regretted it. Everyone's eyes turned to him and he stood frozen in place as his eyes switched from where Ginny stood on one side of the room with Hermione and Harry behind her, while Seamus stood on the other with Cormac and an anxious Dean behind him.
Ginny rolled her eyes when Seamus's face visibly lit up at the sight of him "There you are, Ron! Go on, tell them all that The Malfoys put some sick love spell on you"
"Oh please" Hermione muttered under her breath, biting back a smile when Harry hid his laugh behind a cough.
Ron gulped, face flat of emotions as he stared blankly up at Seamus "What the bloody hell are you talking about, Seamus?"
Seamus brushed it off "Look at him! He is delusional, we should take him to madam Pomfrey and report those two slytherin scums to the headmistress"
"Have you gone completely mental?" Ron spit out, stepping further into the common room and dragged a finger through his messy hair "Perhaps you should go to Madam Pomfrey"
"No, have you gone mental?" Cormac stepped forward "What are you doing fraternizing with the enemy?"
"The enemy?" He choked out in disbelief "Say, Cormac, who are you referring to?"
"The Malfoys of course!"
While Ron contemplated stepping forward and wiping that fucking look of his face, Ginny stepped forward, wand raised with a irritated look on her face "Just get the fuck out of here before i make you. Both of you"
