Mattia
I slammed the door behind me, the force rattling the frame. My fists were clenched, nails digging into my palms, and my jaw was so tight it hurt. Every step down the stairs thudded like a drumbeat in my ears, matching the chaos roaring in my head.
The house felt suffocating, like its walls were closing in on me, choking me with memories and mistakes. I needed out. Now.
Cold air hit me the second I stepped outside, sharp and biting, but I welcomed it. At least it was real. I swung a leg over my bike, revved the engine until its growl echoed in the silent street, and took off.
The wind slapped my face, the roar of the engine drowning out the storm inside my head.
---
The bar was perfect. Dark, loud, and full of people who didn’t care about anyone else’s problems. Just what I needed.
I parked the bike, shoved open the door, and made my way straight to the counter.
“Whiskey. Keep it coming,” I barked at the bartender.
The first drink burned, but it barely registered.
The second slid down easier. By the third, I felt the edge of my anger dulling, but not enough to forget.
Some girl next to me tried making small talk. Her voice grated on my nerves.
“Shut the fuck up,” I snapped, glaring at him until she backed off.
I drained another glass, the weight of the night pressing harder. The bar wasn’t helping.
It was too loud, too chaotic, and my thoughts were still screaming in my head. Then, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
I turned sharply, ready to tell whoever it was to fuck off, but then I saw her. Gigi.
“Missed me?” she purred, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. She was leaning too close, her smile too practiced, too fake.
I Don't respond turging back to my drink.
She slid onto the stool next to me, ignoring the brush-off. “What’s going on, Mattia? You’re so... moody tonight.”
I clenched my jaw, staring straight ahead. “Why the hell are you here?”
“Come on, don’t be like that.” Her voice turned playful, like she wasn’t the same person who had sent Sophia those photos just to mess with her.
I turned to face her, my eyes narrowing. “You think I don’t know what you did? The photos? Sending them to Sophia?”
Her smile faltered, but only for a moment. She quickly recovered, shrugging like it was no big deal. “It was just a joke. Don’t be so serious.”
“A joke?” I snapped, my voice rising. “You’ve got some fucked-up sense of humor. Stay the hell away from her.”
Her eyes flashed with anger, jealousy simmering beneath the surface. “Why do you care so much about her? What’s so special about Sophia?”
I didn’t hesitate. “Because I love her.”
The words hung in the air like a bomb. Her face twisted in disbelief, then fury.
“You love her?” she spat. “She’s nothing, Mattia! She doesn’t even belong in your world. She’s just some girl playing dress-up in a life she’ll never understand.”
“Shut the fuck up, Gigi,” I said, my voice dangerously low. “You don’t know a damn thing about her.”
Her laugh was bitter, venomous. “You think she’s perfect? She’s not! She’ll leave you just like everyone else does. Like your dad, you’ll see.”
The words cut through me like a knife. My hands shook with rage as I spun around, grabbing her by the arms, holding her tightly.
“Don’t you ever talking about that
again,I swear i will fuckin kill you if you do” I growled, fury burning in my chest.Gigi’s eyes flashed with something dark. She pushed back, her voice dripping with disdain.
“You think you can scare me, Mattia? You’ll regret this. You’ll regret everything you’ve done.” Her eyes narrowed as she continued, “I gave you everything, Mattia. Everything. My body, my soul, everything. But you chose her. Someone who doesn’t even care about you. Someone who doesn’t even give a shit. I know everything about you, Mattia.”
I could feel my jaw tighten, my hands shaking with the anger building up inside me. “Fine,” I snapped, meeting her eyes with a cold, hard stare. “I love her. And that’s the end of it. What’s your fuckin problem?”
Gigi’s lips curled into a sneer.
“You’re selfish, Mattia. You always have been. And you’ll end up alone, just like you were when you were a kid. When your dad left you, and it was just me and Nick who stayed. We were there for you, but now you’ve lost both of us. All because of this bitch ”
My blood boiled, my vision going red with rage as she insulted Sophia. My grip tightened on her arms, my voice low and dangerous.
“You don’t ever speak about her like that again. Do you hear me?”
Gigi’s smirk faltered, but I didn’t care. My anger was blinding, and I was done with her. “If you ever say that again, I’ll make you regret it,” I spat, my voice cold as ice.
I leave her walked to the far corner of the room, needing space, needing to breathe. But my chest was tight, my heart pounding.
When I glanced back, Gigi was on her phone, her expression smug. Suspicious. My gut churned.
I crossed the room in a few quick strides, grabbed her phone off the table, and unlocked it without hesitation. My hands shook as I scrolled through her messages.
The first name I saw made my blood run cold. Nick.
Nick: i will make her mine
What the fuck?
I scrolled further, my pulse racing.
The second massage from someone called jack, who is this!Jack: We’re in front of his house now.
My grip tightened on the phone. My mind was spinning, my vision tunneling. Then I heard Gigi’s voice behind me.
“Looking for something?” she asked, her tone taunting.
I turned to face her, the phone still in my hand. “What the fuck are they planning, Gigi?”
She smirked. “You’re too late, Mattia. They’re already with her.”
My chest tightened, fear mingling with fury. “What are you talking about? What did you do?”
Her smile widened, cruel and triumphant. “They’re with Sophia. Right now. Taking everything they want from her.”
The room spun, my breathing shallow. Without thinking, I bolted out of the bar.
The ride home was a blur of rage and adrenaline. My bike screeched to a halt in front of the house, and I jumped off, my chest heaving with every breath.
