ILYSM -fangirl9943😘)Dick's POV
After a long training session and a prank that consisted of flour and water balloons, Denver and I started to leave the Mountain. "When's the dinner party?" I ask Dennie, who bites her bottom lip in response.
"I'm going to say it's at 7, but whoever is coming will show up at 6:45," she rubbed her eyes beneath her sunglasses and yawned. "I don't want to sit through a three course dinner tonight."
I nod in agreement, "you think it'll be okay if Wally comes over? Or will that interfere with the dinner?"
"I'm sure you and Wally can eat dinner in your room or whatever," she says as she picks at the nail polish that was once a pretty blue. "Dad won't mind. There will be enough food for ten extra people, so Wally should get his fill."
"Thanks Dennie," I turn around and jog towards where my red headed friend is sitting. "You wanna come over for the evening?" I ask Wally. "Bruce is having a dinner party, and if you come over I can have an excuse to miss it."
Wally gives me a crooked grin and laughs, "you know I can't turn down free food. Especially food that's meant for a dinner party."
Following me to the tubes, Denver starts to absentmindedly chatter, "what do you think I should wear? If it's just his co workers I won't dress up to much, but if it's his millionaire friends then I'll have to dress up."
Wally smirks, "you know you can pull off anything right babe?" And gets a smack to the arm in return. Denver goes through the Zada Tube, leaving me with the remainder of embarrassment on my cheeks.
"You know she's my sister, right?"
Wally shrugs, "not my fault you have a hot sister," and soon we're back in the Bat Cave. Wally looks around at the new gadgets and such, commenting every now and then on how much it stank that his uncle didn't get cool toys like Batman did. He also tried to touch one of the newest grappling hooks, but I was able to slap his hand away before he accidentally shot one off. We then headed upstairs, only to be greeted with Bruce talking to Denver about something.
"Your grades are spiraling downward," Bruce says sternly. "You're going to have to quit patrolling if you can't be a normal teenager during the day.... Hello Wally, it's good to see you again."
I watch as Bruce turns the attention to us and how ticked off Denver looks. She looks like she might bite someone's head off, and I know that she can do some serious damage if her monthly nightmare is happening. Wally says hello, and then I make a beeline for my room so I can avoid the rest of Bruce and Denver's conversation.
"How bout I cream you in a round of Assassins Creed?" Wally says as he flops down on my bed. "Or maybe you can't take that kind of heat, would Mario Kart better suit you?"
"You're hilarious," I mumble and toss a controller to him. "You can pick the game out this time. Though I doubt you'll have a chance in any of them."
Wally pulls out a sports game and laughs, "bring it bird boy!" And we start to play the game. But as the game goes on, my mind starts to drift to when I first met Wally.
"Batgirl," Bruce had said. "I'd like you and Robin to meet Kid Flash," he started, when Barry Allen came into view and placed a hand on Wally's shoulder.
"My nephew," he finished, grinning as Wally crossed his arms.
Not wanting to seem rude, I stuck out my hand for Wally to shake. "Well, it's nice to meet you KF," Wally grins and takes my hand in his.
"KF. I like it," he pulled his hand away and flicked Denver's bat ear again. "What about you Baby Bat? Are you going to say hello?"
Denver screamed and karate chopped his arm in response. Wally cried out, and cradled his arm. "Um, ow!"
Barry laughed, "suck it up buttercup," and that was the first time I can say Wally and I were friends.
Wally's words interrupt my daydream. "Remember when we ate a entire gallon of ice cream and you threw up on Denver's new school uniform?"
"I would rather not," I mumble as the door slowly opens up. Denver pokes her face in and gives a head nod.
"Dinners in the kitchen when you want it," she says before shutting the door again.
Wally continues to look at the door, "is she single right now?"
"Wally, she's my sister!"
"Ok ok ok, sorry!" Wally says and puts down the game controller. "You ready for next week? When we go to the hall?"
I nod, "I can't wait! This is what we've been training for, and we're so close! Aren't you ready?"
Wally shrugs, "I guess. I just have this feeling like something's going to go wrong. Like, we'll met a evil clone of Superman and get the crap beat out of us or something."
"That's ridiculous," I say and stand up. "You ready to eat? I'm starved!"
