Dick's POV
"We're here! We're actually here!" Denver squeals as we stand out side of the Hall, the first ones to show up. She then places both hands over her cheeks, "I can't believe it," she whispers, then looks at me and shakes my shoulders, "WE ARE ONE STEP CLOSER ON BEING APART OF THE LEAGUE!"
I can't help but laugh and I playfully bop her nose, "I know Little Bat. You don't have to remind me."
The sound of footsteps catches my attention and I turn to see Aquaman and Aqualad walking towards us. "Greetings Robin and Batgirl," Kalder waves, and Denver smiles and runs over to give each of them a hug, like she always does.
"It's wonderful to see you! And it's wonderful weather for the occasion," she beams, and I can't help but scoff at her overflowing excitement. Dennie looks at me and sticks out her tongue, then receives a thwack on the back of the head by her dad.
"Quit acting like a child," he scolds, "you're here because you're old enough. Act like it."
Denver sheepishly mutters a meek 'yes sir' and then looses the scolded demeanor when Roy and Oliver pull up in Oliver's vehicle. The hugging and hellos start again, and Roy ruffles my hair when he walks over. "So everyone except the two fastest heroes are here?" He chuckles and we all have a quick laugh over it right as Wally and Barry show up.
"Come on!" Wally says exasperated and throws his hands in the air. "I told you we would be the last ones here!"
Roy takes a few steps forward, "can we go now?"
"Calm down we have all day," Oliver chimes, but Roy continues to walk off and we all follow. Denver somewhat skips as we walk down, while Kalder and Roy walk calmly and steadily, and Wally rambles.
"What do you think the hall will be like? Is there loads of secret files? Super computers, secret doors!?"
"Would you calm yourself!?" Roy snaps, then turns back around and walks in a stiff fashion.
Wally mutters, "sorry. Just a little overwhelmed."
"Why can't anyone just be whelmed?" I wonder out loud, and Denver shrugs in response. Soon we approach the hall, cameras flashing and people clapping as we walk past. I hear comments being made, and can't help but feel slightly giddy to finally be at The Hall.
We walk in, and are greeted by Martian Manhunter and Red Tornado. He greets each of us by name, then turns to walk off. He tells us we have unlimited access to the gym, galley, "and of course, the library." The metal doors slide open to a vast room filled with books, tables and chairs scattered about.
"Make yourselves at home!" Barry announces and Wally and I flip into the chairs as Kalder calmly sits and Denver wanders around, scanning all the books in the room. Roy stands with his arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed.
"We need to discuss the fact that..." Bruce starts talking and the monotone voice is just sounds rattling in my ears, not making a difference.
"Robin! Robin check this out!" Denver giggles as she runs past me and shoves a book into my face. "They have a first printed copy of Harry Potter!!!!! Isn't that amazing?"
