Little Richard Grayson cried and cried. He sat next to his mother and father, who each had some sort of joint bent the wrong way. He thought about the last thing his mother said to him.

When I see you up there Richard, she had said, you make me think of a little Robin.

Tears streamed down his face. Richard knew that his family was dead, but he kept talking to them in his Romanian tongue. "Don't leave me," he whispered in Romanian. "You can't leave me..." ( I don't speak Romanian and don't currently have access to google translate. So sorry!)

He held his small face in his hands. Then, Dick felt a strong hand clasp around his shoulder. Looking up, he saw a big man and a small girl about his age hovering over him. Dick noticed that they both had matching brown eyes that seemed to sparkle, but the similarities ended there. The man had a hard face, a bold jawline and dark hair. He held the little blond girl in his arms, but then set her down. She looked at the fallen acrobats for a second, but then averted her gaze to look at Dick. She had soft blond curls and a rounded face. She resembled a porcelain doll. "Hi," she whispered.

Dick nodded. The big man opened his mouth and his voice seemed to shake the tent they were in. "Richard, I'm Bruce Wayne and this is Denver." Bruce Wayne, the name seemed familiar, but Dick couldn't place it. "Listen Richard, the police are going to come soon, and I was wondering-" Mr. Wayne was cut off by the sound of heavy footsteps. A police officer with a mustache and a head faced woman were now standing behind Mr. Wayne and the little girl named Denver.

"Mr. Wayne." The officer greeted. He nodded at the little girl, "Denver." He then looked at the little gypsy. "Son you're going to have to come with me for a minute. He then took Richard away from his parents and asked him multiple questions. What happened? Did he know something was wrong? Why wasn't there a net?

Bruce held Denver close as he watched some people come and cover up the fallen Grayson's. He then looked over at Commissioner Gordon who was asking the little boy question after question. Bruce watched as tears streamed down Richards face. Denver pulled at his shirt. "Daddy when will we leave? I'm tired."

Bruce tried to be patient with her, knowingness that's he didn't fully understand what was happening. "Soon baby girl," he promised. He walked over to where Gordon was asking Richard endless questions, when the lady with the hard face also approached.

Bruce watched as she whispered into the Commissioners ear and then looked at Richard with no warmth in her eyes. "Go pack your things." She demanded. Richard looked horrified and looked at Bruce with those clear blue eyes.

Bruce couldn't help it. "Commissioner Gordon?" He got the officers attention and then started to state his proposal. "I have room at the manor for a extra person. Would it be possible if I could take Richard home with me until this gets sorted out?" The lady with the hard face stepped forward.

"The boy is going to a boys home until he gets a foster home or adopted. I don't think that you, Mr. Wayne, are a suitable patent due to your reputation. She glared at Denver, who was clinging to Bruce's legs. "I don't think you should even have custody of your current child."

Denver stood up straight. "Don't talk to my daddy that way. Or I'll pinch you!" She threatened. Bruce covered her little mouth. He looked at the commissioner pleadingly, silently asking him to allow Richard to go home with him.

Gordon looked at the lady Denver threatened to pinch and back t Bruce. "I think one night would be fine." The lady started to argue, but walked away to her car.

"Thanks Jim," Bruce nodded to the officer. "Your help-"

"Don't thank me just yet." The officer interrupted. "She might be back tomorrow." Then the officer looked around at the tent. "It may be a challenge getting a suspect, do you think there would be finger prints on something?" Bruce looked around.

"There might be on the wires, but whoever did this is a very smart person. Have you interviewed anyone?"

"Jack Haley, but that's it so far. Here comes the boy," the officer pointed. There was Dick, standing in warm clothes and a suitcase in hand. "Over here!" The officer called to him. Richard soon came over.

Bruce got down so he was eye level with the boy. "Would you like to come home with me and Denver for the night?" Richard thought for a second. Mr. Wayne seemed nice, and the little girl seemed nice too.

"Thank you." Richard whispered. "And you can call me Dick."
