You were looking out of the window as you and the others were all sitting in the van as Diego was driving down the road.
You didn't wanted to admit it, but you were scared. Scared in how this was going to end.
"Hey, you okay?" you turned your head to look at your dad "It is wrong to be scared?" you asked "No" he shook his head "It's okay to be scared, it just show that you are human" he explain before looking at you again "But don't worry, you know that I will do anything to keep you safe, I will protect you with my life, I promise" he said "You know that I can protect myself" you said "I know. I gotta admit I have forgotten that you are not a little kid anymore, it's just, I still see you as my little Buttercup and I just want to protect and keep my little girl safe" he said "Dad, I'm not----" you stopped yourself "Fine, I will always be your little Buttercup and your little girl" you smiled.
"I wish this never happen" you said "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us" he said and you looked at him.
"I want you to know, that I'm so sorry about keeping that book from you, I was just scared" he let out a sigh.
"Soon all of this will be over, and we're going on that Father daugther road trip" he said "I can't wait" you both smiled.
"I hope you can forgive me" he said "I need time, what you did was not okay" you said "I know" he nodded "You kept something that big from me, I felt like you trapped me, force me to stay, so you must understand that is hard for me to..." "I know" he nodded.
"I get it. Take all the time you need, just know that everything I did was to keep you safe" he looked at you.
"Listen, You were a handful, but I didn't get stuck with anything. You kept me going" he said and you looked at him
"Truth is, I've been a better person since the day I had to take care of you. You made me better everyday. You kept me in check, changed me. There have been days where I wondered if I was cut out for this, like the day you hurt your ankle when you were little. Every single time you got hurt, I kept thinking it was my fault, it was my fault for not being a better caretaker to you. But there has never been a single bone in my body or thought in my mind that has regretted taken care of you" he looked at you while you let out a small smile.
"Dad...I---"
But then suddenly Diego stop when he saw the army "Well, that doesn't look good" Luther said.
"Quick, back down that alley so we're out of sight" Allison said to Diego who was sitting next to her.
Diego got ready to back but instead the van drove forward.
"Diego!" Allison said "Back up, you idiot!" Five hissed "What are you doing?" you asked "Back up" Five said "I'm trying" Diego said "What?" Luther and Allison asked as Diego tried to put the van in back gear. "That is not back up, that is forward" you said.
