[June 23rd]
3rd POV
Green Hills was a peaceful, green, lively, and beautiful place. The palm trees were the size of at least two or three normal-sized Mobians, and flowers of all kinds were planted in many places you looked at. You could smell the fresh air and hear the whistles of the breeze, you could almost feel like you were flying if you closed your eyes. This place was where Mobians lived there carefree, thanks to their hero, Sonic. He was the unstoppable hero there.
It was Sonic's birthday today, and Shadow didn't care enough to get him a gift, he was walking over to Sonic and Tails's house for Sonic's birthday party. Sonic did say that there was someone he'd like Shadow to meet. But the problem was that the ebony hedgehog might not be willing to talk to this new person. Sonic mentioned certain things about some moth for three months, which was not strange. But then again, Shadow doesn't pay much attention to Sonic's friends and is mostly focused on protecting this planet.
Shadow made it to Sonic's house and, with a stern look, knocked on the door.
"Hold on! I'll get it!" Shadow heard two girls speak out. One of them, he could tell, was Amy Rose, the other one he didn't recognize. Amy Rose was the one who opened the door.
"Oh! Shadow! Glad you could make it to Sonic's Birthday!" Amy cheered happily, smiling at Shadow.
"I only came because that Faker said he would give me coffee beans if I went." Shadow spoke.
"Well, at least you came!" Sonic spoke as he sped to the door where Shadow and Amy were, "You'll finally be able to meet her!"
"Meet who?" Shadow asked.
"Sonic! Bring the guest in and stop making them wait outside!" Shadow heard the unrecognizable voice again, just more clear.
"Oh! Sorry! Shadow, come inside!" Sonic said, stepping to the side to let Shadow in, which he did take a step inside, shutting the door behind him.
The next thing that Shadow saw was a brown moth walking inside the room, her wings folded to where she could fit them through the door frames. The moth smiled at Shadow before handing him some coffee beans and walking back into the kitchen.
Shadow looked surprised.
"Who was that?" Shadow asked, giving a stern look at Sonic.
"That's Melody, I met her only four months ago," Sonic smiled, "She seemed surprised to see me and seemed to know who everyone was. She even lit up when I mentioned you."
"Really?" Shadow grumbled the question.
"Yeah! Now, you should go and get to know her, now." Sonic spoke before heading to Tails and Knuckled to communicate with them.
Shadow had walked to the kitchen and saw the moth girl making some frosting. The girl was wearing a dark brown tank top, and bright brown arm warmers, and she seemed fluffy.
"Hello.." Shadow spoke, not impressed.
"Oh! Hi! May I help you?" Melody asked. I'm making frosting. Would you like some?" Melody turned to Shadow.
"You're Melody?" Shadow asked. Melody nodded in response.
"Melody Moth!" Melody sang before turning back and continuing to make the frosting.
"Nice to meet you, I guess.." Shadow spoke. Melody hummed in response. She seemed focused on making the frosting.
"You seemed focused, huh?" Shadow asked.
"Mhm!" Melody hummed in response.
"Reason being?" Shadow asked.
"Because I'm the one decorating the cake!" Melody sang happily.
"Do you decorate cakes often?"
"Sort of!"
"What do you mean 'Sort of'?"
"I mean that I help my mom sometimes with decorating cakes."
"I see.."
"Want to try some?"
"No thanks.."
"Alright! When I'm done, you can have some cake, okay?" Melody turned to Shadow and gave him a genuine smile. The smile reminded him a bit of his old friend, Maria.
"Sure.." He grumbled.
"Great! Go ahead and do whatever you want, I'll get this done and talk to you later, okay?"
"K.."
Melody Moth's POV
I never felt more excited in my life. I met some of the Sonic the Hedgehog cast! Amy, Tails, Knuckles.. Sonic.. And now, Shadow! THE Shadow the Hedgehog!
I have to focus on this cake, though. I must stay focused for Sonic's birthday!
I had finally finished the cake and decided to sit calmly in the corner of the living room. I decided to put headphones on.. somehow.. and listen to music. Surprisingly enough, Sonic's universe had the same music as Earth.. whatever my universe was. I had noticed a specific ebony hedgehog staring at me as if studying me. I took one side of the headphones away from where my ear should be and looked at him as if expecting him to say something. He wouldn't do such a thing, especially to a stranger. He didn't even speak to me and turned back to Sonic, who cut the cake to give to his friends.
I smiled before closing my eyes and letting my mind wander into my imagination. As the song changed, so did my imaginary scenarios- which calmed me down since I was anxious.
I was shaken out of my thoughts as I felt someone shake me. My eyes shot open as I turned to whoever was shaking me. It was Sonic. I removed one side of my headphones from where my ear should be and raised an eyebrow.
"Yes?" I asked, then looked around to see the only ones here were us.
"Everyone left, you missed the presents!" Sonic said, standing up from his crouched position next to me. I nodded.
"Tails went to his workshop?" I asked. Sonic nodded.
"You should probably go to bed, it's getting late," Sonic said. I nodded, getting up and heading towards my room.
"Amy likes you, huh?" I asked Sonic, who was in front of the door to his room as well.
"Yep, but that's what happens when you're a great hero," Sonic spoke. I nodded.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Sonic," I spoke.
"See ya," Sonic replied, opening the door, entering his room, and shutting the door behind him.
I did the same, but I went into my room.
3rd POV
When Melody was in her room, she went to get dressed for bed. She got into a brown, oversized, and loose, T-Shirt, and beige, baggy, and comfortable, pajama pants. She got under the sheets on her bed, and fell asleep, wondering what was going to happen the next day.
