[September 8th]
For the past month, Melody and Shadow had been closer than ever. Melody had been very attached to Shadow, too. Although, for the past week, Melody felt a bit on edge. Like her patience was running out. They constantly had to deal with Eggman, and there were new badniks every time. As if he's trying to take her down. Melody had also been reading the books Amy had and had been playing with magic.
This time was a bit different.
Melody was cuddling up with Shadow, purring a small bit. She didn't know she could purr, but she somehow could. Suddenly, he got a phone call.
"Excuse me, real quick.." Shadow said, getting up and heading outside the house. Melody frowned as she waited there. A few minutes of waiting later, Shadow came in, grabbed a gun, and left again. Melody instantly knew what was wrong. Eggman was attacking again.
Melody got up and went to get her spell-book and ran over to the door, leaving the house and taking off in flight.
When Melody got there, she noticed these were the same badniks as her first fight with them, but they were upgraded. Melody sighed and started casting spells that threw the badniks around. She loved her newly found powers- even if she seemed a bit too much like Silver at this point, even though she was no time traveler.
Melody ended up destroying a bunch of badniks when the entire town was evacuated. Later on, Sonic and the others came to help Melody.
Somehow, the badniks grew stronger. Melody had barely dodged most of the badniks. And she had to save most of her friends.
And that's when Eggman suddenly appeared in a giant mech. They were all trying to take down the mech. Suddenly, though, Shadow noticed something was off. Upon having a realization, his heart dropped as he looked at Melody. Melody was too distracted getting the badniks destroyed to notice that the mech was about to punch her out of the sky.
"Melody! Look out!" Shadow shouted, jumping over to Melody. Melody looked over and noticed a huge fist heading her way, then looked at Shadow. What was he doing? As Shadow got to Melody, he pushed her out of the way of the hand. Her eyes widened as the giant fist made contact with Shadow, causing him to fly into a building and crash.
"Shadow!" Melody shrieked, flying down to where Shadow had crashed into. She landed on some rubble and ran to her dear friend, falling onto her knees. "Shadow! Wake up!" Melody cried, tearing up as she shook him. He didn't open his eyes or say anything. He flinched, alerting her that he was still alive. She didn't know that he was still alive; she just assumed he was dead.
"Awe.. I'm afraid your little boyfriend is down for the count, Melody!" Eggman laughed, "Now, it's your time to leave!" The same hand that punched Shadow down reached out to grab her.
Suddenly, time seemed to move slower than usual.
Staring at his body, Melody shook him again as tears flowed down her cheeks.
"Wake up.." Melody cried as she stared down at him. Seeing him not move made a new emotion grow inside her. She hadn't felt this feeling in a very long time. Melody slowly stood up. Yes, she recognized this emotion. This fire that wells up inside her and starts getting bigger by the minute.
One.
Melody used her magic to cast a shield around Shadow since he was down and couldn't move.
Two.
Melody's hands caught with a magic fire when she bawled them into fists. She's going to get revenge one way or another.
Three.
Right as the hand was going to grab her, she quickly turned and slammed her fist onto the palm, causing the whole hand to explode.
Sonic and his friends immediately looked up at the mech as the rubble from the remains of the hands fell to the ground. How did that happen? Knuckles, Tails, and Amy could only make dents into the mech. And Sonic's attempts were in veil. That was when Sonic noticed Melody in front of Shadow's passed out body. Sonic seemed surprised. Melody did that?
Suddenly, she bolted up at Eggman, breaking straight through the Mech. The mech seemed to explode after that. As Eggman fell from the sky, Sonic ran to Shadow to check on him. Melody caught Eggman, holding him by his throat.
"You shouldn't have done that, Robotnik.." Melody growled- her tone being way different than usual, as her voice sounded like an echo or like multiple people were talking at once- as she just watched as Eggman lost his breath. Sonic saw this and shook Shadow aggressively. Shadow groggily got up, indicating he was alright.
"Shadow! You're okay!" Sonic exclaimed, "Do you see what she's doing!? You got to calm her down!" Shadow looked up and saw that Melody was choking Eggman. He quickly got up and ran to the closest area to her as possible.
"Melody!" Shadow called out, causing Melody to freeze and look over towards Shadow, her eyes widening. She, then, gave Eggman a death glare as she descended onto the ground. Landing and throwing Eggman down.
"Consider yourself lucky.." Melody grumbled, her voice almost back to normal as she ran to Shadow. Eggman was shocked. Was this the true power of a Moth? Maybe all of the Moth species were like this?
Once Melody got to Shadow, she picked him up and hugged him tight.
"You're okay!" She cried, tears of happiness welled up in her eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine, what the fuck happened?" Shadow asked. Melody sighed.
"Not sure myself but we should probably head home." Melody stated before Shadow nodded.

"She what!?" Shadow asked Sonic after Sonic explained what had happened the day before, surprised.
"I'm guessing that's the true power of a Moth.." Sonic stated. A few seconds later, Melody walked in.
"Shadow!" Melody sang as she hugged Shadow.
"Hey.." Shadow mumbled, his cheeks flushing a shade of pink.
"You like her!?" Sonic asked, surprised.
"Yeah, so what?" Shadow asked, causing Melody to seem surprised. Suddenly, she kissed Shadow, causing his eyes to widen.
Sonic just left the room, feeling embarrassed.
