I might be retraumatizing myself by writing this chapter! (This has never happened to me! Just my thoughts about what could have potentially happened!)
[Shadow's Dream]
He was in an unfamiliar place. Instead of Mobians everywhere, there were strange specimens almost resembling what Maria and Gerald were.. Human.. It hurt Shadow seeing people like this, but he looked around anyway. He was curious. Why was he here? Everyone either ignored him or phased through him, so he guessed he was a ghost.
He walked around until he found himself at a house. Why was he there? He didn't know, but he walked in. He saw pictures of a woman and a man.
The woman seemed to be around 20 years old and had short, curly brown hair, brown eyes, a huge smile, and black clothes. Some of them had pictures of him as the design. Was Shadow that popular?
The man looked nothing like the woman. He was much taller and older than her, as if he were 44 years old. Strange. He also had short, curly brown hair, brown eyes, but he also had a beard and a cold look in his eyes.
There were also some drawings of moths of different kinds. And most of the drawings had the initials of M. M as in Melody? Shadow got very confused due to all this. He knew that Melody was a human before arriving into their world, but he didn't know she looked like this. She was beautiful.. but she was taken? Why did she not mention the man she was with?
"Get off me!" A shriek, a voice sounding like Melody's, could be heard.
"Nuh-uh! Your body, my choice, Melody," A male voice could be heard. Shadow's heart dropped as he ran up the stairs. He went through the door to see a horrific sight. One he'll probably never forget.
Suddenly, a gunshot could be heard.
Shadow had shot the man, and he looked very different. The woman looked at Shadow, looking scared. Shadow suddenly ran out the door, and he fell to the ground.
He fell into the world he'd see Kira at. He looked up, trying to catch his breath.
"What.. was.. that!?" Shadow demanded an answer as he looked up at Kira, who looked saddened.
"That was one of the things that has happened to her.. But it didn't end like that.." Kira said. This caused Shadow's heart to sink once again.
"So you're saying-"
"Yes, that was Melody.."
"She got-"
"Yes, Shadow.. Which is why I need you to protect her.. She's been through a lot.." Shadow hesitated for a second.
"So is she..?"
"Luckily, no.."
"Thank god.." Shadow was relieved. But he was determined to tell Melody something later.
[Melody's Dream]
Melody was in a familiar hall. Almost too familiar. She looked to her left to see the vastness of space. To her right were a bunch of doors. Suddenly, the place flashed red as alarms blared out. Melody's eyes widened. She started running as fast as she could. She needed to get to the emergency pods before it was too late. She needed to save Maria before GUN shot her.
She somehow got there before they did, so she hid. Soon enough, Maria and Shadow arrived. They both went over to the escape pod. Melody suddenly jumped down and pushed the both of them into the pod.
"Wait- Who are you!? Why are you helping us!?" Shadow asked, "Are you with them!?" Shadow seemed confused and angry, Maria only seemed scared.
"You'll thank me in the future.. possibly.." Melody spoke before Gun soldiers arrived. Melody didn't hesitate to pull the lever to launch the pod.
Suddenly, a gunshot could be heard. They had shot her. Melody looked at her bullet wound, her eyes widening, before she suddenly fell.
Melody jolted awake to look over where she had been shot in her dream. She saw that there was nothing there, and it was only a dream. Melody sighed in relief before she got out of bed and got dressed in her everyday clothes, walking out of her room.
"Morning, guys!" Melody sang as she saw Shadow and Rouge.
"Good morning, Mel!" Rouge exclaimed, while Shadow just nodded and looked away.
"There's my little grumpy man!" Melody teased before bending down to kiss Shadow's cheek. As soon as she got close, Shadow turned his head, causing her to kiss his lips instead.
All three of them were surprised.
Melody suddenly pulled away and ran out of the room, her face red. Shadow's face was red, too.
"Guess you both like one another," Rouge chuckled.
"Shut up.." Shadow grumbled.
