aishawithkay: Being a fan means accepting that obsession comes with the territory. The overthinking pushes you to seek out more and more... Until you hit that point where you've read and researched everything there is. But the hunger doesn't stop. You just want more! If you've got a creative mind, you start making your own "more." Or you find others' creations that finally satisfy that craving. That's what fanfiction is to me.

aishawithkay: About 25 years ago (yes, late millennial here), I was obsessed with this TV show. Since it aired weekly - no streaming back then - we'd gather in discussion groups, just teenagers and tweens sharing our theories. One day I discovered some girls were writing what we called "scripts." Most of us wrote new chapters, imagining what might happen in future episodes. We loved reading each other's stories, and some were genuinely good. Eventually, we figured out that the scripts were actually called fanfics!

aishawithkay: Writing is the ultimate escape for me. I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and I realised that writing on Wattpad was a total "hyperfocus" for me.

aishawithkay: Writing helps me stay connected to my dreams and gives me hope. Letting my creative side loose fills me with pure joy.

As a reader, though, I'm super picky on Wattpad. But like I said before, when you're passionate about something specific and find a great fictional story about it, you just can't help getting hooked! It's the best feeling ever!

aishawithkay: With thousands of young writers around, I'm pretty hopeful! My place, well, not sure, but I can say that I'll be around for some more until I finish my trilogy :)
