Manon sat on the plush carpet of the living room, her phone poised to record as Elyse wobbled on unsteady legs. Hyunjin knelt a few feet away, his arms open wide, his expression full of encouragement.
“Come on, Elyse! You can do it!” he cheered.
Elyse giggled, her tiny hands reaching out as she took one shaky step, then another.
“You’ve got this, baby,” Manon whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
With a determined squeal, Elyse toddled the rest of the way, collapsing into Hyunjin’s arms.
“You did it!” he exclaimed, scooping her up and spinning her around.
Manon put down her phone, unable to hold back her tears as she joined them. “Our little girl is growing up so fast.”
Hyunjin kissed her softly. “She’s got the best parents in the world. She’ll be unstoppable.”
Manon smiled, resting her forehead against his. “With you as her dad, I don’t doubt it.”
