Elyse was buzzing with excitement. Her first dance recital was tonight, and she had spent weeks perfecting her routine.
Mannon helped her get ready, styling her little ballerina bun and adjusting the glittery tutu.
“You look perfect,” Mannon said, kissing her forehead.
“Just like you, Mommy,” Elyse replied, grinning.
At the recital, Mannon and Hyunjin sat front and center, cheering loudly as Elyse took the stage. The routine was flawless, and Elyse beamed as she curtsied at the end, the audience roaring with applause.
When she ran offstage, Hyunjin scooped her up into a hug. “You were amazing, princess!”
“Thank you, Daddy!” Elyse said, her voice full of joy.
That night, as they tucked her into bed, Elyse hugged her trophy tightly. “Do you think I can be as good as you one day?” she asked Mannon.
“You can be even better,” Mannon replied, brushing a curl from her daughter’s forehead. “You can be anything you want, my love.”
