Chapter 26

Arjun stood in the luxurious penthouse, watching as his housemaid Savitra diligently cleaned the intricate glass coffee table.

As she worked, Savitra started talking about Kavya, praising her kind nature and how lovingly she treated both Savitra and her young son.

"Madam Kavya is truly an angel, Arjun sir. She always remembers to ask about my son's school and health. She even brought him a gift on his birthday last month. You are so lucky to have her in your life," Savitra said with a smile.

Arjun felt a surge of frustration building up inside him. He clenched his jaw, trying to control his anger as he knew the real face of Kavya, the one who had shattered his heart and trust.

"Savitra, do not speak of things you do not understand," Arjun said coldly, his voice tinged with bitterness.

Savitra looked up, surprised by his sudden change in demeanour. "But sir, I only meant to say that you are fortunate to have someone like Kavya by your side. She is a gem of a person," she said softly.

Arjun couldn't bear to hear any more praise for Kavya. He slammed his hand on the table, causing Savitra to jump in shock. "Enough, Savitra! You know nothing about her true character. She is not the person you think she is," Arjun snapped, his eyes flashing with anger.

Savitra stood still, her eyes wide with confusion.

"She can only give you some gifts and sweet talks, after that she won't look at you...
What she gave..books clothes..
I always  admit your son in school every year with all fees, going there looking process to his..not just doing charity like her.."

Savitra had never seen Arjun so angry before. Slowly, she gathered her cleaning supplies and quietly left the room, leaving Arjun alone with his tumultuous thoughts.

As he stood there, the weight of his deceit and betrayal was heavy on his shoulders. Why did he have to come across Kavya to satisfy his greed, she gave the worst wound to him.

----

Arjun stormed into the office, his face dark with anger. His usual calm and composed demeanour was nowhere to be seen as he marched towards his desk, his steps echoing in the quiet office. The junior employees who were already at their desks looked up in surprise, sensing the tension radiating off of their boss.

Without a word, Arjun slammed his bag on the desk and glared at his team. "What is going on here?" he barked, his voice sharp and commanding.

The juniors exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what had sparked Arjun's sudden outburst. "Sir, is everything okay?" one of them ventured tentatively.

Arjun's eyes narrowed as he pointed a finger accusingly at the nearest junior. "You! Why is this report still not done? I gave you a deadline, and you've missed it for the third time this month!" His voice was filled with frustration and disappointment.

The junior stammered, scrambling to explain himself. "I-I'm sorry, sir. I've been working as fast as I can, but there were some unexpected complications..."

Arjun cut him off with a dismissive wave of his hand. "I don't want excuses, I want results. Do you understand me?" His tone was harsh, his patience wearing thin.

As he continued to berate his team, Arjun's anger seemed to escalate with each passing moment. He criticized their work ethic, their dedication, and their commitment to their tasks. The atmosphere in the office grew tense, the juniors shrinking under Arjun's harsh words.

Flashback,

Arjun took another drag of his cigarette, the smoke curling around his face as he tried to calm his nerves. Kavya stood next to him, gazing at him with concern in her eyes.
