Chapter 30

Arvind's heart raced as he watched the medical team swiftly wheel his unconscious daughter Kavya towards the operating theater. He followed closely behind, his hands trembling with fear and worry.

As they entered the sterile room, the doctors and nurses quickly surrounded Kavya, assessing her condition and hooking her up to various monitors and machines. Arvind stood helplessly by, his eyes fixed on his daughter's pale face.

"Sir, you'll have to wait outside," a nurse said gently, placing a hand on Arvind's shoulder.

Arvind nodded, his throat constricting with emotion. He stepped back, watching through the glass window as the medical team worked to save his daughter's life.

Minutes felt like hours as Arvind paced anxiously in the waiting room. He could hear the muffled sounds of medical equipment and voices coming from behind the closed doors.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the doors opened and a doctor emerged. Arvind's heart leaped into his throat as he rushed forward.

"Is she okay? What happened to her?" Arvind asked, his voice desperate.

The doctor looked at him with a grave expression. "Your daughter is stable now, but it was a close call. She suffered from severe dehydration and exhaustion. We're still running tests to determine the exact cause."

Arvind felt a wave of relief wash over him, but the fear still lingered in his heart. He thanked the doctor and followed him back to Kavya's room.

As he entered, he saw Kavya lying on the bed, her eyes fluttering open. She looked weak and fragile, but there was a flicker of recognition in her eyes when she saw her father.

"Dad?" she whispered, her voice hoarse.

Arvind rushed to her side, taking her hand in his. "I'm here, Kavya. You're going to be okay."

Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at his daughter, grateful that she was safe and alive. And in that moment, he vowed to never let her out of his sight again.

As Arvind stood outside the operating room, anxiously awaiting news on his daughter Kavya, a nurse approached him with a concerned look on her face.

"Mr. Arvind, I wanted to inform you that Kavya may be experiencing a type of cardiogenic shock. Her heart is not pumping effectively and her blood pressure is dropping rapidly. This could lead to a life-threatening situation if not treated promptly," the nurse explained, her voice filled with urgency.

Arvind's heart sank at the news. Just last night, Kavya had been laughing and chatting with him, seemingly happy and healthy. How could things have taken such a drastic turn in such a short amount of time?

"I don't understand. She was fine last night. What could have caused this?" Arvind asked, his voice filled with worry and confusion.

The nurse sighed, her expression sympathetic as she tried to explain the situation in simpler terms for Arvind to grasp. "Sometimes, emotional stress or a sudden heartbreak can trigger a condition known as takotsubo cardiomyopathy, also known as broken heart syndrome. It can cause the heart to weaken and lead to symptoms like Kavya is experiencing."

Arvind's mind reeled at the thought that something as seemingly harmless as heartbreak could have such dire consequences for his daughter. He prayed silently for Kavya's recovery, hoping that she would be able to overcome this unforeseen medical crisis.

As the medical team continued to work tirelessly to stabilize Kavya's condition, Arvind could only stand by helplessly, his heart filled with fear and worry for his beloved daughter.
