Chapter 36
Rana looked up to see Arjun being wheeled on a stretcher by the medical staff. Kavya's heart sank as she saw him lying there, pale and unconscious, a stark contrast to his usual vibrant self.
Rana quickly got up and rushed to Arjun's side, his face filled with concern. "We're here for you, buddy. You're going to be okay," he whispered reassuringly to Arjun, hoping that his words reached his unconscious friend.
The doctor emerged from the OT, his expression grave as he informed Kavya and Rana that Arjun was being prepped for surgery to remove the bullet.
Kavya's heart clenched at the thought of Arjun going through such a traumatic ordeal, and she felt a wave of helplessness wash over her.
As Arjun was taken into the operating room, Kavya stood outside, her hands clasped in prayer, tears streaming down her face. "Please, let him be okay. Please bring him back to me," she whispered, her voice filled with desperation and longing.
Kavya's hands were tightly clasped together, her eyes red and swollen from crying. She couldn't stop the memories of the gunshot ringing through her mind, the fear and panic that had consumed her as she saw Arjun fall to the ground, blood pooling around him.
Rana sat beside her, his hand on her shoulder in comfort, a look of sadness and helplessness in his eyes. He had never seen her like this before, so vulnerable and broken.
As the doctor rushed Arjun into the operating room to remove the bullet, Kavya closed her eyes and began to pray. Her voice was trembling as she whispered, "Please, God, please let him be okay. I can't live without him. I'm ready to give up everything, just please bring him back to me. I wanted all that wealth right...I'm ready to give everything but I can't take that he lost his life for me"
Tears streamed down her face as she thought about all the moments they had shared, the laughter and the love that had filled their lives. She couldn't bear the thought of losing him.
Rana rested his hand on her trembling one, a silent gesture of support and understanding. He could see the depth of her love for Arjun and he silently hoped and prayed for his friend's recovery as well.
As the minutes ticked by, Kavya's prayers grew more desperate and fervent, her heart breaking with each passing second. She knew that she would do anything to keep Arjun safe, to keep him in her life.
The doctor's face was grave as she approached Kavya and Rana in the waiting room.
Her voice was gentle but urgent as she explained, "I'm sorry, but Arjun needs a transfusion of O-negative blood. We need to find a donor as soon as possible."Without hesitation, Kavya stood up, her eyes teary as she said with a breaking voice, "I'm O negative. Take as much blood as you need for Arjun. How much do they need? You can take full blood from my whole body. Just please save him."
Rana's heart sank as he quickly stepped in, gently placing a hand on Kavya's arm. "Kavya, you can't. You're pregnant now. It's not safe for you or the baby to donate blood."
Kavya's eyes widened in realization as she remembered the new life growing inside her. She felt a wave of fear and concern wash over her, but her desperation to save Arjun still burned fiercely in her heart.
The doctor sensed the tension in the room and spoke up, her voice calm but firm. "It's okay, we have procedures in place to manage this. Please wait here, we will find a suitable donor for Arjun."
Rana looked at Kavya, his eyes filled with worry and empathy. "Trust the doctors, Kavya. They know what they're doing. Let's hope for the best and pray for Arjun's recovery."
