Sarah and Mai arrived home, exhausted from their eventful trip. After a couple days of resting Mai headed to the police station to meet with Detective Blaine.
"I'm glad you're safe, Mai," Detective Martin said, his expression serious. "Can you tell me what happened?"
Mai recounted their experience, "We got into the house and we found a room in the basement. There was something like an investigation board in there but there were no faces just pictures of some creatures from greek mythology. Then Sarah sensed someone's gaze, there was a man standing at the top of the stairs. We chased after him but the house exploded."
Blaine wrote all she had said in his notebook. However, something bothered him. "You said Sarah sensed someone's gaze, right?"
"Yeah , she does that sometimes"
"For how long?", Blaine asked.
"For a very long time now", she said.
Blaine ripped off a page and gave it to Mai. "Mai, I want you to write down every single friend that Sarah has had ever since she joined on the force."
"Why?", Mai asked.
"The strange man's behavior is strange. If he really wanted to delete the both of you he wouldn't gone come down there but he did anyway and he stood staring at you. This man wanted you guys to see him and he probably knew of Sarah's ability."
"What makes you say that?", she asked.
"Its a hunch I can't explain. And I think that ability of hers angered someone."
Mai was confused but she wrote down the people she was friends with at the station.
"Thank you", he said, "I'll make a trip to Kranggersulaqq I'll hunt the man down."
Meanwhile, Sarah visited her therapist, Dr. Lee.
"Sarah, how are you feeling after everything that's happened?" Dr. Lee asked, her voice gentle.
Sarah hesitated, unsure how much to share.
"I'm just really confused, I guess. And scared. I don't know what's going on or who's behind it all."
Dr. Lee nodded empathetically.
"We'll work through this together, Sarah. But I have to ask, are you sure you're telling me everything?"
Sarah's eyes dropped, her heart racing.
"I...I don't know what you mean."
Dr. Lee's expression remained neutral, but Sarah sensed a hint of skepticism.
Sarah decided to come clean. "Mai and I found something back at the house. It was just a board filled with weird pictures and I found a USB there."
"What was in it?", Dr. Lee asked.
"It was a video of Juke explaining something's."
"Have you told the police yet?", Dr.Lee questioned.
"No I haven't."
"Okay. I'm sure you will tell them once you are ready. So seeing Juke again how did you feel?"
Sarah let a smile. Dr.Lee noticed this and started giggling.
"Why are you giggling?", Sarah asked.
"Nothing really I'm sorry", she said.
"Oh c'mon now spit it out."
"Its just that you always get like this when something funny with Juke has happened."
"He said he hoped that his funeral fit was cool. He literally knocked me out that night and he died, the first thing he asks is if his fit was cool?", she said ," I've never seen such stupidity before."
"But how did you feel about that?"
Sarah expression was calm and all the despair had left her. "I'm okay, yeah I'll cry some times over him but at least I'm at peace now. I'll find whoever did this and then I'll spend time with my family properly like the way he had always wanted it to be."
The therapy session later on came to an end and Sarah was relieved. Going to see Dr. Lee always helped her get through her depression, she always got out of her office with a clear state of mind. As Sarah left the therapist's office, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. While going into the parking lot she met with Jake, her sisters husband."Hey, Jake what are you doing her?", Sarah asked.
Jake looked rather confused as if his head was scrambled. "Uh hey Sarah, I was just uh getting inside yeah inside there's someone I need to see. Sorry I'll talk to you later."
Jake dashed away from Sarah and entered into the therapeutic agents building. Sarah was shocked but she r did not pay much attention to it so she just wrote it in her notebook and drove off.
The next day , Sarah said Mai met up at a coffee shop to discuss their next move.
"So what do you have?", Sarah asked.
"Well we were given three names to look into Elijah Thompson, a doctor who did an illegal operation that Juke represented. Edith Windsor, a local school teacher who has been suspended for stealing rabbits from a local shop that sells them for hunt and kill, Juke represented her in court too. And then we have John Kings, a CIA operative. I think you can guess that this one is going to be tricky."
"He probably represented him in court too. I'll look into his files. Try getting a room for me with these people."
"Alright I'll start with Elijah", Mai said.
