Mai and Sarah sat in Elijah Thompson's office, surrounded by shelves of medical texts and awards.

Elijah, a middle-aged man with a kind face, leaned forward. "What can I do for you, girls?"

Sarah hesitated, "We're trying to understand what happened to Juke. We have reason to suspect you might know something."

Elijah's expression turned somber. "Juke represented me in court a few years ago."

Mai's curiosity piqued, "What was the case about?"

   Elijah took a deep breath.

"I was charged with performing an unauthorized medical procedure. Juke defended me, but...I still got two years."

Sarah's eyes widened, "What kind of procedure?"

Elijah's voice was laced with regret. "A heart transplant. I tried to save a  girl's life, but...I didn't follow protocol."

Mai's expression softened, "You were trying to help."

Elijah nodded, his eyes clouding. "Yes, but I paid the price. Juke helped me get a reduced sentence, but...my reputation was damaged."

Sarah's eyes narrowed, "Do you think Juke's death is connected to your case?"

Elijah's gaze locked onto theirs. "I don't know, but...I have a feeling that something bigger is at play."

"What makes you say that?", Mai asked.

"Because he was working on another case I wasn't so sure of."

Elijah's eyes drifted away, lost in thought.

"After the trial, my medical license was revoked. I lost everything: my practice, my reputation...my purpose."

Mai's expression softened. "That must have been incredibly difficult for you."

Elijah nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "It was. But Juke...he stood by me, even when everyone else turned their backs."

As they left Elijah's office, Mai turned to Sarah.

"Do you think Elijah's telling us everything?"

Sarah's eyes locked onto Mai's. "I don't know, we will know soon enough."

Mai and Sarah sat in Mai's living room, laptops open, researching Elijah's past.

Sarah's eyes scanned the screen. "Look at this, Mai. Elijah was involved in several medical controversies before the heart transplant case."

Mai's brow furrowed. "It seems like he's been pushing boundaries for a while."

Sarah's expression turned thoughtful. "When did this transplant thing happen?"

Mai read the screen. " It happened in November 2017, that was like seven years ago."

"What was the name of the girl? Maybe we can't contact her or her parents."

"I don't think you want to do that", Mai said in utter shock.

   "Why what's wrong?", Sarah asked.

"The girl Elijah operated on was Tamani King."

Sarah's Jaw dropped in shock. "You are joking."

"See for your self". The web article mentioned that Tamani King was the girl who Elijah Thompson operated on. She needed a transplant because her heart was collapsing."

"News like this was not distributed!", Sarah said.

"It was but the family took it down for privacy."

Sarah was shocked at the news. Could the incident with Tamani really be the root of everything? Was that what Juke was investigating before he died?

"What ever happened to Grace after the incident with Tamani?", Mai asked.

"She's at the Queen Ingrid's Hospital", Sarah said.

"Wait- she is in the psychiatric ward at that hospital here in Nuuk. What happened to her?"

"She went crazy and tried to kill herself so she was taken there. The grief was too much."

Sarah looked disappointed and angry as she squeezed the arm rest. Mai immediately grabbed her hand. " Relax Sarah, it was not your fault."

"Its okay I'm fine. Okay we are running behind time our kids need to come back home, so who's the next one?"

"Edith Windsor, We can meet her now if you want?", Mai asked. Sarah nodded in agreement.

Sarah and Mai stood outside Edith's cozy cottage, surrounded by a lush garden filled with animal-friendly plants.

Mai rang the doorbell, and Edith answered, looking a bit worn but still radiant.

   "Hello, girls! Come on in."

As they sat in Edith's living room, surrounded by photos of animals and teaching mementos, Sarah asked, "Hey Edith, I am Juke's wife and I would like to ask you what connection you had with him. I know you aided some rabbits."

Edith's eyes clouded, "I just couldn't bear the thought of those rabbits being killed for sport. I know it was wrong to take them, but...I couldn't help myself."

Mai's expression softened, "We understand why you did it. But what happened after you got caught?"

Edith's face lit up with gratitude, "Juke helped me. He was my lawyer, and he got the charges reduced. I'll always be grateful to him."

Sarah's eyes narrowed, "Do you think Juke's death has anything to do with what happened to you?"

Edith's expression turned thoughtful, "I don't know...but I do know that Juke was investigating something at the time he was working my case."

   "When was this?", Sarah asked.

Edith thought for a moment. "I think it was seven years ago in 2017."
