Lunch had soon passed and Matilda and Jenny knew they'd be needing to head home soon, but they got so caught up with everyone that they hadn't realized it had long grown dark outside. Miss Peregrine had informed them about Horaces dreams and reset which Matilda found very intriguing, the exact opposite of how Miss Honey felt at the thought of a bomb traveling down and almost hitting the home.
"Are you two going to stay for the night?" Millard asks while Jenny insisted on helping Alma gather the plates from dinner.
"I'm not quite sure." She answers, knowing she had things outside the loop to do, but at the same time she didn't feel great walking home late at night.
"Mr Nullings, could you show Matilda to the parlor to get ready for the movie?" Alma asks, the hat moving in what seemed to be a nod before he left.
"It is entirely up to you if you want to stay or not." Miss Peregrine says softly, standing beside her at the sink as she set the dishes down. "Just do be careful walking home late if you do choose to go home."
"I'm not quite sure yet." Jenny says softly with a small smile, glancing briefly into the parlor. Matilda seemed to be enjoying herself, she found it rather interesting earlier when Alma was explaining the history to how the loops work. The ravenette caught her gaze, noticing the unsure look.
"Are you alright?" Jenny moved her eyes back over to Alma, a small smile on her lips and a faint pink dusting over her cheeks.
"Yes, I'm just thinking." She says sheepishly, Agatha once more crossing her mind. Why was she thinking of her? It was fine, but something was telling her that something felt off.
"About?" Alma asks softly, but didn't pry too much.
"It's a long story, no big deal." Jenny says with a light smile. Miss Peregrine hummed in response, looking at her pocket watch before gently taking the younger woman's hand, surprising Jenny.
"It's time for the movie and afterwards reset. Let me know if you're leaving or staying afterwards." Alma says, a part of her hoping she didn't sound pushy about her staying.
"Will do." Jenny says with a small smile, a bit disappointed when the ravenette let go of her hand as they walked to the parlor where the children were.
Matilda sat down with her mother, Miss Honey taking a seat that Olive had saved her on the couch and Miss Peregrine took a spot by the doorway, flicking the lights off. Jenny watched as suddenly Horaces eyeglass lit the room, an image of Jenny and Alma appearing on the screen.
"This was from earlier." Matilda whispers, Olive nodding with a smile.
"Horace has prophetic dreams. Most of them consist of him trying suits on, but sometimes there will be a new vision that can happen before or after something happens." Olive explains, her voice a quiet whisper as Matilda listened intently. The girl was right about the suits, the dream shifting into him trying one on that deemed fit for him. But then it changed again. Jenny couldn't make out quite what was happening, a few shouts heard before Miss Honey suddenly seen herself. It was surreal seeing herself, feeling uneasy over something that didn't happen yet and may not happen. The dream flickered, moving from Jenny's terrified expression to someone much more sinister.
Agatha.
Matilda immediately looked at her mother, but the woman was focused on the boys vision, taking in every detail of the dreadful woman, her heart racing as she did. She's known the woman, has seen her for so long, spent so much of her life with her and yet, she still frightened her. The ravenette glanced over at the younger woman and could sense something was definitely off. Horaces dream then flickered off, Alma turning the lights back on.
