The ravenette let out a content sigh when she felt the sunlight hit her through the window, slowly rolling over on her other side to escape the light. Not bothering to open her eyes, she felt around for the little bird, not thinking much when her hand ran through Jenny's hair instead. Not until she felt the other woman's hand lightly brush against hers and she quickly opened her eyes, tensing for a moment until she seen it was Jenny.

"Good morning." The brunette says tiredly.

"Good morning." Alma replies, about to shut her eyes but snapped them open again suddenly, sitting up abruptly. "Wait- Jenny? When did you shift back?"

"Just last night, it's alright." She says softly, sucking in a sharp breath when she felt her joints burn when Alma lifted her arm, the older woman immediately letting go.

"Jenny, you should have waited." She scolds, the younger woman ignoring the statement and wrapping her in her arms as best as she could, resting her head in the crook of her neck as she held on to her. The ravenette felt her features soften and melted into her hold. She did miss the feel of the other woman. The brunette placed a soft kiss on the side of Alma's neck, the burning in her limbs seeming to subside a little as she breathed in the comforting scent of vanilla that lingered on the woman.

"I missed you. So so much." Jenny says, her voice muffled, her breath hitting Alma's skin.

"I missed you too, darling." The ravenette replies, pulling away to place a kiss on her forehead, Jenny catching her lips last minute with hers. Alma leaned into it, Jenny carefully falling back on to the pillows and pulling her down with her. The older woman was the first to end the kiss, gently taking her hand and placing a kiss on her knuckles before noticing the bruise on her arm. She didn't seem to be injured other than that, Jenny noticing her gaze and flicking her nose to get her eyes to meet hers once more. The ymbryne raised an unamused eyebrow, the younger woman giggling when she suddenly felt her lips against her jawline, moving down her neck. The feeling sent a spark through her chest, enjoying every touch from the ravenette, not minding the burning in her body anymore. Eventually the ymbryne pulled away to check her pocket watch, glancing at the time before placing a more gentle kiss on her forehead.

"We should be getting up soon. Will you be alright?" Alma asks, Jenny clearly distracted as she looked up at her with a warm smile, her thumb gently running across the woman's cheekbone.

"You're so pretty." The brunette whispers, her eyes moving to her lips before back up at her eyes, the older woman's face burning at the sudden compliment. Alma grew flustered, sending her a shy smile and tried to reply but it just came out as gibberish which made the brunette chuckle.

"I love you so much, bluebird." She says softly, her own cheeks soon matching Alma's as the ymbryne looked down at her, both of them even forgetting what she had asked her.

"I love you so much more, little bird." Alma smiles, Jenny opening her mouth to argue when the older woman pressed a finger against her lips immediately. "Don't argue with me, Jenny." The usual authority seeped into her voice, any past drowsiness now gone as she towered over the woman, smiling when she seen the blush deepen on the woman's cheeks.

"Alma?"

"Yes?"

"Matilda mentioned to me about returning her books to the library. Would you be alright with us going into town at some point?" Jenny asks softly, Alma's hand meeting hers as she spoke, gently tracing a talon over the scar on her palm.

"I wouldn't mind." She says with a smile. "Millard was speaking with me about needing a few new books, I could come along with you if you'd like."

"Will the others be okay if we do?"
